I know this is unpopular, but tbh I seen the vision with this roster… now maybe it’s on pope to think 12 players would stay healthy and perfectly play their roles
But Aberdeen had some of the best turnover stats down the stretch, that’s pretty perfect for a guy who’s role was supposed to be back up PG/vet guard

@bigblueinsider1 Aberdeen was the backup point guard. His assist to turnover ratio was better than Gillespie, Philon, Holloway and Fland, and similar to Tanner. What were you expecting from a backup PG?

Ultimately, yes. He's responsible for the roster. There were extenuating circumstances; Perry transferring and a commit changing his mind. But in the end, it's on Pope.

This is the type of deals I wonder about with JMI (potentially) that could impact basketball but not football
And elite hooper can get a deal like this is college, it’s a bit tougher for a football player and IF it’s true that JMI won’t allow any deal that conflicts with their partners (NIKE), it’ll just be interesting

@philu916 @MattSakR2NG Perhaps UConn was slightly better, but I know Florida wasn’t… they didn’t have a player ranked in the top 100 and was a 7 seed… returned key guys back and was one of the best team in the country all season

@MattSakR2NG @ML_BBN No disrespect but they’re better players and weren’t the “ranked” higher? I watched most of the games I live in NY and work nights so I can’t watch every game unfortunately. Some of these guys just don’t look that good (for D1 and SEC) maybe I am fully wrong here.

Multiple things are true:
1. Kentucky will NEVER lose its standard and BBN should never stop demanding it
2. The results of this season were NOT acceptable
3. Pope is going to be back, along with several returning players
4. BBN should 100% get behind them and support them

@MattSakR2NG Some of the retuning players are fine if they’re not starting. If 4 of the returning players (Jelevic, Kam, Chandler, Moreno, Lowe, Jasper) start, this team is in trouble.

This makes no sense to me. How can you base an entire offense and an entire roster off one guy? Also, Pope witnessed first hand (with Lamont Butler) what happens to an offense when your PG goes down. Obviously injuries are unexpected but this still doesn’t sit right with me.

Mark Pope says they created the offense around having a Left handed point guard and thus when he got hurt it changed the way they had to play

The irony is, I used to work with a bunch of older men in the early 2010s and the reason they “checked out” or stopped watching was bc how much they hated the revolving door of freshmen and one and dones lol and now there’s a large group that is feeling the same over the opposite lol
