Your triceps will never be maxed out if all you do is pressdowns. Train them overhead. That position loads the long head at longer muscle lengths — exactly where hypertrophy stimulus can be especially potent. Pressdowns are good. Overhead extensions are non-negotiable.

This guy built a DIY Conan’s Wheel often seen in Worlds Strongest Man events. A barbell, trap bar, plyo-box, and plates. Home gyms force creativity and that’s one of the best parts.

@Bengal_DPT Band push downs, band face pulls, band “broomsticks” for shoulders . I do TKE’s before my lower body workouts

Deep Squats, Shallow Thoughts
Deadlifts are the best fix for back pain 100x more often than they are the cause. And when they are the cause, it almost always self resolves in a week or less The online hysteria and confident claims about deadlifts being bad for your back are the literal opposite of the truth
Andy Baker@BakerBarbell

Non specific low back pain - Back from a 5 day vacation. 2 long drives. Slept in shitty AirBnB bed. Lots of time sitting in a lawn chair or floating in an inner tube. Probably dehydrated from combo of 100 degree Texas sun and unhealthy amount of alcohol consumption. Low back in enough pain last night to prevent me from sleeping most of the night. The fix? Deadlifts. Didn’t do anything stupid in terms of loaf or volume. 3x6 at probably 2-3 RIR from a 2” deficit. Followed by 45 degree back extensions for 3x15. Pain was more or less gone by 2nd or 3rd warm up set and 1 hour post work out and I’m 100% back to normal. This isn’t a “look how tough I am!” post. It wasn’t an act of toughness or recklessness. After 2 warm up sets at 135 I was already feeling 50-60% less pain and stiffness. I know a lot of my clients who get in similar situations will contact me and say “back is tight, let’s lay off squats and deadlifts this week.” But you should do the opposite provided 2 caveats: (1) don’t go crazy with load. Medium weight for medium reps. No max singles or 5RMs. (2) it isn’t an acute low back injury. I didn’t “strain” my back. I’d still train even if I did “tweak” my back but the protocol might be different. But non specific low back pain from the conditions similar to what I described above is common and is easily remedied via intelligent training.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions from 🏈 Coaches on in-season adjustments, training cycles, and Brief Maximal Tension. The cool part about the system we run is in its emphasis on managing fatigue. We want fresh, strong, explosive year round. If you want help, Consults are available!

I was doing some reading on the end of Priest Holmes' career (for Anatomy-related reasons)... And MAN, head/neurological trauma was discussed so casually in the early 2000s. Looks like a different world. Some highlights on this injury that Totally Wasn't A "True Concussion":

@RyanJ_Heath ”Getting your bell rung” and “a true concussion “ are separate. I’ve had both. When I played football, I was in a car wreck and 4 wheeler wreck. I had my bell rung once in football. You don’t know what a concussion is till you hit a tree at 30mph or have a four wheeler flip on U
