My family likes to keep a few plants around the house which helps to keep our air clean. Plants take in CO2 through photosynthesis and release oxygen for us to breath! It also makes the room look nicer :) @franklinlorax #apesair

The car I drive is a Toyota Hylander. This vehicle is a hybrid. This means that it is better for the environment! Though this car isn’t electric, it still makes a positive difference:) @franklinlorax #apesenergy

This is an electric car charging station, electric cars help limit pollution into the air and also cars that run on electric energy on average only need to be charged every 4 days! #apesenergy #franklinlorax

Transporting by bus is fueled with diesel fuel which comes from crude oil. Diesel fuel is more efficient and emits less carbon dioxide. As well, we are saving energy by traveling together! Go Sabers! @franklinlorax #apesenergy

Most lights in our area are powered by coal. While solar energy would be cleaner for the environment, they have limited availability and can be very costly. This energy allowed the lights to be on during my strep test😃👍🏼 #apesenergy @franklinlorax

Phoebe loves going outside and catching mice which is why having public wetlands in our backyard gives her a great place to explore😸 @franklinlorax #apesland

Super thankful for all the public land available in our state of Wisconsin! This gives my dog so much room to run around👍🏽🐶🐾 @franklinlorax #apesland

There are many different sizes and shapes of rocks. As water flows through them, we are able to identify these sizes through their porosity, permeability, and water retention. #apesland @franklinlorax

My neighborhood is a great example of low-density housing where we live on more land than we would in high-density housing like an apartment in the city. #apesland @franklinlorax

Penny overheard me studying plate interactions & thought I’d need these. Really I was studying what causes tsunamis & earthquakes: slips/ pops at boundaries. Looks like fat P just wanted something to lick off my plate😋 🐾 #apesland @franklinlorax

Since we live in the US my parents were able to have more than 1 kid. My parents had 4 kids which is higher than the fertility rate in American which is 2.6 kids per family. @franklinlorax #apespopulation

An ecological footprint is the impact of a person/community on the environment, expressed as the amount of land needed for their use of natural resources. One way to reduce your footprint is to recycle. My family recycles to help save the Earth! @franklinlorax #apespopulation

This is my brother Alex. Because we are the only two kids, we have an average sized family. This means we take up less resources and don’t have as big of a ecological footprint. #apespop @franklinlorax

In class I learned that if everyone lived like me, we would need 5 earths worth of resources. I need to reduce my ecological footprint by eating more vegetarian meals and carpooling more often. #apespop @franklinlorax

After taking the ecological footprint quiz, I realized that most of my footprint was made up by the amount of driving I do. To reduce this, I can start carpooling more with others and driving a car with a fuel efficient tank! 🚘 @franklinlorax #apespop

fish are considered R-strategists because they produce many offspring. salmon especially represent r-strategists due to the thousands of offspring that they can produce. @franklinlorax #apeseco

here is a perfect example of a k-strategist. maisy is an english retriever who is just growing out of her puppy stage. she has a longer lifespan than r-strategists and can only produce few offspring! @franklinlorax #apeseco
