@PorkPoncho My reason for playing duos would be pretty much the same as playing solos. Being getting contracts done w/o being at mercy of 2 other randoms. Would play similarly trying to avoid encounters, focus on contract, just w/ a little help.

My Marathon hot take is that I was wrong about Duos and should've never asked for it.
Played around 10 rounds and its just people hiding in corners, buildings or skulking around the edge of the map.
That hits different in solos because in solos it feels inherent to that experience and plays out like a stealth game. But in duos that doesn't feel right and its not very engaging at least to me anyway, to be honest its mostly boring.
Its easy loot though because most of the people in the mode are clearly scared to properly push engagements and would rather hide behind walls and rocks, so play a destroyer and go for maximum aggression to guarantee kills.
But yeah @MarathonDevTeam and @Ziegler_Dev I don't think Duos is it. The pacing of PvP feels really off as a duo and overall I don't think it will benefit the game in general. Solos and Trios feels like a good set. Happy to be proven wrong in the long term though.
I'm fully ready to be crucified int he comments though by people who don't like the idea of making friends in the game.

We've seen your feedback about the increased range at which you can hear other players in combat and are closely monitoring how it affects your runs. We recognize that this was an overcorrection and will pull things back in a way that maintains your ability to hear each other's actions, but not at a distance that feels excessive. We're still aligning on how to ensure the best player experience, and will deploy changes in an upcoming update.
English

@PaulTassi If update is pushed to June I see no way an expansion releases in Sept.

@enkay85 @jaqqardak @Marathon_Track It's also true most gamers aren't into extraction shooters, period. Looking at player count void of any other context doesn't tell us anything about whether a game is good or bad. A better measurement would be actual reviews. You know, the way we used to do things.
English

@jaqqardak @Marathon_Track People can form their own opinions, and the prevailing opinion is it’s mid. If that wasn’t the case it wouldn’t have peaked at 150k playtest and half that on launch. Thats ppl with hands on experience that said no ty. You’re allowed to like the game, but recognize most don’t
English

@jaqqardak @Marathon_Track Right? Like a LOT of potential. This could be Destiny 3 if properly supported.
English

@Marathon_Track its a solid 4/5. But haters have essentially scrapped this game, fucking sucks tbh because it has a lot of potential.
English

@PaulTassi Yeah gotta be very careful about tweaking this. So much of the PvP interaction is predicated on sound which comes primarily from listening for UESC engagements.
English

@SherzyOne Probably one you've heard, but if willing to give it time and learn mechanics, systems, etc. I like it. That is coming from a non-extraction shooter player. Have lots of time on Destiny 2. This game has lots of parallels to the Destiny world to the point that I'd say this is D3.
English

@PaulTassi They shouldn't think a game marketed as an extraction shooter was going to be a blockbuster. Should have said this is what we're doing instead of D3. Let D2 die. I can't see how you save that and sooner or later people are gonna see there's a lot of Destiny DNA in Marathon.

@TH3S0V3R31GN @PaulTassi "Objectively" your statement is meaningless and void of context. Supposedly low player count is the only thing the haters have. Extraction shooters are aniche, hard-core genre. They won't have record breaking or even high player counts.
English

@PaulTassi You continue making excuses in favor of the game. That is textbook 'toxic positivity'.
How about just trying calling a spade a spade? Try to be objective for once?
Let's practice: 75k concurrent players on Steam on opening weekend for a $250M AAA game is ____________.
English

@Deadite98 @TheTrueVanguard That does make a huge difference. Check out the official Discord server. There's recruiting in there all the time.
English

@TheTrueVanguard Man I'm envious of you guys that are enjoying it. I wanted to like it but without a regularly group to run with, it's just not an enjoyable experience for me.
English

@TheTrueVanguard It is, for all practical intents, Destiny 3. So may design similarities masked by the art style (which i love). Biggest differences: PC players in patrol zones can kill you. No social area.
English

@PaulTassi I guess I don't see that much difference gameplay wise b/t Dire and Perimeter. Outpost is where it really changes.
English

@PaulTassi IMO Marathon IS Destiny 3. There are so many parallels b/t Marathon and Destiny. Same ability setup down to mapped to the same buttons. Contracts/bounties. Three (soon to be 4) 'patrol' zones. The biggest difference being that the PC's can kill you. There are ways around that.
English

@PaulTassi I think Bungie should put all its eggs in the Marathon basket. I am not an extraction shooter person, but I'm liking it. Over the weekend I was able to get into a community so I have ppl to play with. Solo is tuff, but I can see ways for that to improve.
English

@PaulTassi I'm definately getting that. Dumb question; Is there an in game clan system? Cause I need one.
English

@Ecliptify @shoot_loot Except u didn't dumb, dumb. You simply said Raiders allows earning if in game currency as well outright purchase (which is Marsthon says they're doing, btw). Invariably some will opt to just buy the currency. Therefore revenue stream.
English

@MNMikeN @shoot_loot “Live services require a constant revenue stream beyond just the purchase of the game”
Gives example how this is not true.
“Try again”
LOL these fuckin retards will fall for any scam.
