@MPCavin @theresamills101 That has only been the case since 1983. Prior to that, deacons could only be extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion.

I have a question for my fellow Catholics: Does it bother you to receive Holy Communion from Eucharistic Ministers? Would you rather have a Deacon or a longer Mass to avoid using a EM ? Or do you think it's the SAME as a Priest giving it?

@BWCACatholic @theresamills101 I don’t like the unconsecrated hands arguement. I am a Deacon, my hands have not been consecrated though I have been ordained to serve as an ordinary minister of Holy Communion.
