Just signed the only copy downstairs in Foyles on Charing Cross Road. Can someone buy it quickly please? Because it’ll be really embarrassing if it’s still there in six months.

@FergusCraig Confession - I didn’t check. The sheer size of Foyles was shocking and the “pick up what you ordered” counter was on ground floor. Had to make a split second decision if I was going hunting for it. It’ll have sold surely 🤷🏼‍♂️

Labour MPs will regret voting for this
Steven Swinford@Steven_Swinford

EXCLUSIVE Sir Keir Starmer WILL face a vote on whether he should be referred to a parliamentary sleaze inquiry over the appointment of Lord Mandelson as US ambassador Sir Lindsay Hoyle, the Speaker of the Commons, is expected allow a debate and a vote tomorrow on whether to refer the prime minister to the privileges committee over claims he misled the House The Tories and other opposition parties have accused Starmer of misleading MPs by claiming that "due process" was followed in the appointment of Mandelson as ambassador to the United States and there was "no pressure whatsoever" Starmer's claims were contradicted last week by Sir Olly Robbins, who Starmer sacked as permanent secretary at the Foreign Office. He said there was "constant pressure" over Mandelson's appointment. The Times has been told that Hoyle is expected to allow the request for the debate and vote because the procedural bar for doing so is "relatively low". Parliamentary rules state that complaints must not be "frivolous" As we revealed this morning Starmer is likely to whip his MPs to oppose the motion. It will be a three line whip. So the question remains how many of them are likely to defy him? Starmer’s allies argue that the vote is a distraction from more important issues like the fallout from Iran and the impending cost of living crisis. They deny claims that he misled the Commons thetimes.com/article/ceb8bf…

Here was the debate last night: non tournament tested club golfer with low single digit GHIN starts the masters at -100. Does he win? My answer is a strong no chance.

@benbosk As someone who got a letter in their file at my club for having an untucked shirt at 6 pm during a summer round, I dig this debate! I think the Tour could benefit from having certain tournaments with looser dress codes. They should lean into it at WM, t-shirts, shorts, etc.

Since we're firing off Ryder Cup takes today, Luke Donald should be asked eventually if he'll consider DPWT lifetime member Patrick Reed for a spot on his squad. He will certainly play the required number of events.

Hey Scotland! I am coming to @glasgowfilm next month! I had a great time shooting in Glasgow and turning it into a dystopian future on @runningmanmovie. I also truly love the gorgeous Glasgow Film Theatre, so it’s a thrill to come back and finally screen it. I didn’t get the chance on the press tour, so am going to make up for that to promote the extras-packed Blu-Ray and Steelbook. Join me on Wednesday 11 March for a special screening of The Running Man, followed by an in-person Q&A with yours truly. I popped into Glasgow Film Theatre during filming in 2024 (pictured here exploring the projection booth!) and was there again in December. Now, I am returning to the city where I shot The Running Man to share the film with Glasgow audiences in person. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday 18 February) at 12pm via glasgowfilm.org and the GFT Box Office. Details on an LA screening and signing to come, as well as a second London screening and separate London signing. More very soon!

@RachelMoiselle The interview was more than an hour long, and the clip is about 1 minute 30. I made it clear elsewhere that I think that antisemitism is a form of racism, regardless of whether or not it plays out in the same way as other forms of racism.

What is really depressing to me is that when Myriam doubles down and says ‘groups, collectives’, Ash just lets her continue on with her Nazi-esque tirade about ‘hyper-privileged’ Jews. Ash, whatever biases she might have, was clearly uncomfortable with Myriam smearing and stigmatising Jews as a whole, hence she cut across her to say ‘individuals’. But when Myriam pushed back she completely caved to it in mere seconds. This is how even the most extreme antisemitic ideologies are normalised in society. And, yes, the false notion that Jews are a hyper-privileged group siphoning away resources from their more deserving compatriots, is indeed extreme in its antisemitism. It is particularly abhorrent when one considers that British Jews are disproportionately targeted for violence, and the fact that this violence turned deadly a mere few months ago during the Yom Kippur Islamist terror attack in Manchester. Ash instinctively knew that what Myriam said was deeply and dangerously antisemitic. But she offered no resistance to it beyond her first interjection. And thus a new normal for antisemitic discourse is set, by the antisemite and the appeaser alike.
Campaign Against Antisemitism@antisemitism

Ash Sarkar tries to ‘correct’ Dr Myriam Francois as she says that Jews are privileged and wealthy. “Individuals” prompts Ms Sarkar? “Group” doubles down Dr Francois. It is part of her argument that Government funds are being unduly spent defending a minority against a secondary racism, using a classic antisemitic trope about Jewish wealth. It might be ironic were it not so darkly dangerous too. She is effectively arguing that because there are some Jewish billionaires in Britain, all Jews are therefore wealthy and privileged and they cannot possibly be as vulnerable or maligned as is being claimed. It is hard to know where the ignorance ends and the prejudice begins. Were Dr Francois to spend any time in Britain’s Jewish community, she would see families struggling with poverty, families that are comfortable, and families that are wealthy – just like any other community. In any event, nobody deserves to be maligned for their ethnic or religious background, regardless of their wealth. According to our analysis of Home Office figures, Jews are more than nine times more likely to be the targets of hate crime than any other religious group – and these figures are not even complete, such that the true scale is likely to be even worse. It is insulting that Dr Francois dismisses the reality that British Jews are living through – to the point that a majority of them no longer see a future in this country – because she found some Jewish names on the rich list. The fact that she was even looking is telling. This is the face of ‘educated’ discourse about Jews in Britain, from an Oxford-educated doctor of philosophy and broadcaster for the BBC, Channel 4, Al Jazeera and the Islam Channel.
