He wasn't brought to Britain by leftists in return for his vote. He didn't claim any benefits here. He didn't nonce any British kids. He didn't form an ethnic enclave with its own medieval society. He didn't preach hatred of Britain inside Britain. Jesus went to a nearby culturally similar country. And he returned home when it was safe. Jesus was a refugee.

As Michael D. Higgins retires from the role of President of Ireland today - never forget the type of President he was. He was the President who: 1. Legalised discrimination against people who refused to take an experimental gene therapy to access goods and services (Vaccine Passport Laws). 2. Enshrined in law a hierarchy of justice based on a person's race, religion etc (Hate Crime Laws). 3. Allowed the Government to create hundreds of statutory instruments that made it illegal to leave your home without a Government mandated excuse, closed schools, closed churches, made it illegal to attend funerals etc. Michael D. Higgins never challenged the Irish Government's most egerious violation of human rights on its own people. That is his legacy. He should hang his head in shame.
