🇺🇸 Rough 24 hours for U.S. forces over Iran: - 1× F-15E Strike Eagle shot down (1 pilot rescued, 1 crew member still missing) - 2× HH-60W Jolly Green II rescue helicopters hit by Iranian fire (crews safe, some wounded) - 2× A-10 Warthogs hit (one crashed into the Persian Gulf — pilot rescued; another made emergency landing with one engine out) - 1× F-16 declared emergency, landed safely - 1–2× KC-135 tankers also declared emergencies Iran additionally claims it downed another U.S. jet near Qeshm Island. The air campaign is clearly getting much more dangerous. Source: Drop Site News

BREAKING - DEVELOPING: American fighter jet shot down, and Iran is trying to capture the pilot while the U.S. launches a massive search and rescue operation Seems Iran shot down an F-15 fighter jet, and is trying to captured the pilot A massive American search operation is underway involving MQ-9 drones, F-35s and heliborne units Iranian air defenses are engaging the American aircraft involved in the search and rescue Location geolocated to the Khuzestan Province, southwest Iran – 30.6515, 50.1174 This would be the first time a country intentionally shot down an American fighter jet since 1999, 27 years ago, and the first time since the Iraq war a pilot was captured (in Iraq it was 2 Apache helicopter pilots) Iranian state TV just put out t hat statement: "Anyone who captures the US pilot alive will receive a valuable reward" This remains unconfirmed, but many indicators are pointing to this being true CONTEXT: The F-15E is worth about $80-100M, and they have NEVER been shot down. They are a very difficult aircraft to shoot down, and usually requires luck + surprise. This demonstrates Iran's military capabilities are far from destroyed, and this successful downing of an F-15 may have involved the Russian S-300

Yes, they are getting much more than they bargained for. This was my concern the other day when they launched amid a pick-up in solar activity. They need to get outside the Earth's magnetosphere as quickly as possible. Dealing with a radiation storm along with the enhanced radiation belts outer zone during a geomagnetic storm will not be fun.

Former commander of @NORADCommand & Northcom, General Glen VanHerck describes the "apparent drone" swarm over Barksdale @usairforce base as "astonishing", alarmed that these objects flew over the hugely sensitive base with "apparent impunity over several days". He raises grave concerns there's been no publicly known effective response from the military or the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). It was General VanHerck who admitted to @60Minutes a year ago, the US doesn't know what they are - and likely still doesn't. We cannot even be sure they're actually drones because none have been downed despite attempts using the US' most sophisticated counter-UAS tech. Assertions they may be foreign adversaries are still speculative. In March 2025, one year on from similar incursions over Langley AFB, the General told CBS 60 Minutes: "We should be concerned that we don't know what these are... there are gaps in capability, there are gaps in policy, and there are gaps in law that need to be addressed." A year on, we still don't know what they are and, at a time of high international tension, it's concerning that most media cast these incursions as potential foreign adversary drone warfare. @POTUS and @DeptofWar evade providing answers ... likely because, they don't have an answer. Remember, the White House @PressSec said in January 2025: “After research and study, the drones that were flying over New Jersey in large numbers were authorized to be flown by the FAA for research and various other reasons. Many of these drones were also hobbyists — recreational and private individuals that enjoy flying drones. In time, it got worse due to curiosity. This was not the enemy.” A year on, it appears there is still confusion about what these objects are. General VanHerck focused on 2023 military-base incursions (Langley and others), but his warnings about detection/policy gaps apply broadly to unexplained drone activity, including patterns that overlapped with the NJ reports. His very legitimate concern is that systemic vulnerabilities remain unaddressed even a year+ later; downplaying risks could leave the U.S. exposed. This is why @SafeAerospace's calls for greater openness, transparency and reporting of unexplained objects in sensitive airspace need to be urgently heeded by Government. nationalinterest.org/feature/drone-…
