@7Veritas4 I changed careers, now work for my elections office designing outreach and education for youth and traditionally underrepresented populations, and leading a committee of diverse community leaders to ensure voting accessibility for all. I love my new job!

@DoorenspleetR He only told me about it after I promised I wouldn’t do anything about it. I was livid with her but proud of my son for standing up to her. I kept my promise.

@DoorenspleetR When my son was in 4th or 5th grade a parent of one of his classmates was doing yard duty. She told my son he should take off his mask, saying, “Your mom will never know.” She didn’t know anything about his health status and risk factors, or those of his family members.

A kid wearing a mask is not harming anyone. It doesn’t disrupt others. It doesn’t endanger anyone. It’s a personal protective choice. So forcing a kid to remove it is usually about adult comfort, not the kid’s safety. Why this feels unfair Because it is unfair.

Can anyone explain how Trump can take$1.25 billion appropriated for foreign aid and divert it to his private “Board of Peace”, but Biden lacked authority for reducing student loan debt?

De Niro: Every morning when I get up, I reach for my phone to look at the headlines of the day, and for some time now, I start every morning depressed about the latest outrage from our would-be king. I mean, it’s amazing—every fucking day there’s something new and crazy, but it’s different on this day, because all over the country, in cities and towns and factories and on farms—north, south, east, west—millions of us are coming together to declare: no kings.

Congrats to the President for using a mail-in ballot to vote today. Now that you've seen mail-in ballots are credible, STOP the lies, STOP blocking access to the ballot box, & let Americans choose how they vote, just like you did. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

Donald Trump called mail-in voting “mail-in cheating” on Monday. That same day, news broke that he just voted by mail in a Florida special election. His polling place is a 15-minute drive from Mar-a-Lago. He spent the last two weekends there. He mailed it anyway. He is now holding the entire country hostage to pass a bill making it harder for you to vote the way he just voted. Shameless hypocrisy. nytimes.com/2026/03/24/us/…

It is said that during the plague the bard wrote King Lear. Perhaps, but how many did not live to see it performed?

Even some masking is better than none. You can incorporate wearing a kn95 mask into daily life on transit, in healthcare settings, at airports, in grocery stores, and make those spaces safer for all. You can help us advocate for CLEAN INDOOR AIR.

Donald Trump says he’ll block every Congressional bill until we pass the SAVE Act. Basically, saying he wants to hold us hostage unless we disenfranchise millions of voters and their access to the ballot box. So, let us be clear. We are NOT 👏 going 👏 to 👏 pass 👏your 👏 voter suppression bill. Period.

Parasitic video games: You are the yield being farmed… You're not conquering a world. You're livestock in a beautifully rendered feedlot. Modern live-service games aren't ideological weapons or Kronos-worship time temples. They're parasitic systems engineered to extract the two scarcest resources you actually own: **your time** and **your money**. The illusion is progress. You see: - XP bars climbing - Battle-pass tiers lighting up - Daily/weekly quests stacking - Side-quests promising "just one more" meaningful reward - Seasonal events with FOMO timers - Grind for that next skin/gun/mount/emblem/level cap But none of that is *your* progress. The only metrics that truly advance are: 1. Hours logged in their servers → more ad impressions, more behavioral data harvested 2. Dollars spent (or attention monetized via battle-pass skips, premium currencies, loot-box equivalents) Everything else resets or depreciates: - Seasons end → your "achievements" become obsolete cosmetics - Power creep makes old gear irrelevant - New battle pass launches → old one is worthless - Events cycle → you're back to square one chasing the next dopamine hit This is textbook **variable-ratio reinforcement** (Skinner-box gambling mechanics) scaled to infinity. Loot boxes, battle passes, daily login streaks, limited-time bundles, they're not accidental. They're deliberate addiction loops proven in peer-reviewed psych studies to extend session length and increase spend far beyond what fair single-player progression ever could. The 2013 Epstein-files emails with Kotick aren't even the smoking gun; they're just the earliest public glimpse of execs openly saying the quiet part loud: hook kids early on microtransaction habits so the spending becomes lifelong Pavlovian behavior. But you don't need shadowy cabals. Pure profit motive does the same job. Activision, EA, Riot, Epic, Tencent, etc., all converged on this model because A/B testing showed it **works**: - Retention skyrockets when "progress" feels infinite but is actually circular - Whales (top 1-5% of spenders) subsidize free-to-play masses - Average player feels they're "winning" while slowly bleeding time & wallet The game feeds you pellets of fake agency and illusory mastery. You keep coming back because the next pellet *might* be shinier. You’ve been played.

Interesting thread; why would a goal be to waste the user their time. Is it ideological driven? People worshipping Kronos want to give their lord timewasters in their games? Is it to incapacitate a generation, people, population for keeping them distracted from more important matters? Curious what you think. Really valuable ideas you put out. Thx.
