India has ensured adequate availability of crude, petrol, diesel, LPG and PNG despite global disruptions, with domestic LPG production up nearly 40%. Domestic supply has been prioritised, while commercial LPG has been gradually restored to 70% with focus on key sectors. Despite rising global crude prices, fuel prices remain stable due to government intervention Government has reduced excise duty and absorbed the burden itself instead of passing it on to consumers. Since April 2022, petrol and diesel prices have either decreased or remained stable. Even when excise duty was increased in April 2025, the additional burden was not passed on to consumers PNG expansion has been fast-tracked, adding over 10,000 connections daily. Enforcement against hoarding has intensified, with around 3,000 raids, hundreds of FIRs and strict action against distributors.
