Basically the hearing was about how some publishers sell you a game, take our money, and then later make it completely unusable by shuttting off the servers it depends on. The people behind Stop Killing Games were arguing that this is obviously unfair, because customers are buying these like normal games, not like temporary rentals with a clear end date. Their point was: nobody is asking companies to support games forever just don’t destroy them when your done with them. The big takeaway is that a lot of people in the Parliament seemed pretty sympathetic to that argument. They were treating it like a real consumer rights issue, tied to digital ownership, unfair terms, and preservation. The EU Commission didn’t come out and say “we’re passing a law tomorrow,” but they did make it sound like they’re taking it seriously and looking at ways to address it in future regulation. So right now it feels like the movement got taken seriously at a high level, but it’s still waiting on actual law or enforcement. Remember that we only have USB-C on Apple products internationally now because the EU Parliament, so take this shit seriously.

Boomers who bought a house in the 70s, the comparable purchasing power today would put minimum wage at $66 an hour. Real life example - my dad had a house built in NYC 1972. 60k I bought a house roughly the same size in 2016, outside of NYC at nearly 10x the price. Its not fair, gen z is doomed. Oh my college only cost me 4k also

@matteo311 I feel this HARD! My landlords went psychotic (we refused an illegal rent increase, but agreed to increase by the legal max) & did a *bad faith* eviction, so I had to move back in with my parents. Rent isn't even affordable, let alone buying a house! Gen Z/millennials are fucked.

@TheEggman64 Right?? So much of the game is "wait, can I just yeet?" I also find the art design & narrative incredibly charming. It's a game that feels like it's punching a bit above its weight class overall. The voice acting is also good, which I find is not guaranteed w/ indies like this.

@MScatterty 100%! I remember spending ages building a chain passing fruit from one it to another. Then the penny dropped and I realised I could just yeet it across the room and then catch it on the other side. Felt so stupid but also so clever 😂

Everyone knows the big #PSVR2 games (GT7, Horizon, the Resident Evils), but there's a huge number of less well known games that are the real reasons to pick up the headset. Here's a few that are my particular recommendations... 🧵

I legitimately submitted a feedback report saying, "Wrath is so fast & gives me zero motion sickness, I have faith that you could port Aliens Vs Predator 1999/2010 & have it be nausea-free" 😅

@TheEggman64 Holy shit, you did it. You actually fucking did it. You managed to describe the gameplay of The Last Clockwinder in a short and cohesive manor. I have been trying for years, to no avail 😅 It's a beautiful game, though, seriously! I think it's seriously underrated.

7) The Last Clockwinder A puzzle game like no other, as you record your own motion to a series of bots to build a complex machine that can pass/throw/catch objects. Amazing VR trick of expanding your brain to consider solutions you' couldn't ever imagine before.

4) Red Matter 1&2 I wish I could go back and experience these two games again for the first time. Like a holodeck simulation where you can live out your new favourite sci fi novel.
