@annaeck73 @Kerins36 @markmobility @dremilyportermd I know I learn better and produce more when I feel good about myself. This issue of dress code is another inequity within our buildings. I had very few choices for attire growing up in poverty. Who are we to judge? 😢

Kudos to this Chattanooga mom telling a Tennessee school board that her daughter is now opting out of ALL school dress code restrictions. 😍😍😍

So, the 2020-21 school year was a hot mess for so many teachers, students, and communities. Anyone else afraid 2021-22 is about to say, "hold my beer"?

@SuperEvansMath @stumpteacher Pls believe me, I am not pretending everything is fine. I'm learning how and trying to cope like everyone else. I felt the existential dread, too. We are not all doomed to sink. It feels like that bc this storm is BAD. I think we've made it through the eye. ♾❣️♾

@espanolsrs @stumpteacher No, our district is very lax. Fully vaxxed are not reqrd to wear mask. Otherwise, honor system. I am fully vaxxed and will continue to follow safe habits and such. My Ss need me and tbh, I need be a teacher right now. ♾❣️♾

@raincatpants @stumpteacher I was beginning to have the same issues. I was like, wtf is this? I just had to reach out for therapy and it has made SOOOOO much difference. It's for real! ♾❣️♾

@SchmidtCarrier @stumpteacher the coping skills for dealing with just these types of critical life events. I have learned so much through this crisis and in the short time I have been tending to my own mental health that has prepared me to be that guide my Ss need to navigate it all. ♾❣️♾ 2/2

@SchmidtCarrier @stumpteacher Keeping a positive outlook is very key to my mental health. The struggles we are all having are real and I acknowledge that. At the beginning of this summer I reached out to a therapist as I was struggling to maintain my positivity. Our Ss rely on us to model... 1/2

Instead of holding a global event every 4 years to determine which country can do the best cartwheels or swim faster. We should have a global event on which country is healthiest, has less poverty, and fights climate change best.

WFP runs out of food in #Tigray this Friday. It takes 100 trucks per day to reach everyone we are aiming to feed. 170 trucks bound for Tigray with food and other supplies are stuck right now in Afar and can’t leave. These trucks must be allowed to move NOW. People are starving.

At our PD this weekend we asked teachers to tell us 3 words that they would need for the upcoming school year.

@MrSoclassroom You are not ranting. Educators and parents both need to work together to make a mold fit for each student. Not make each student fit one mold that makes teaching easier but leaves SO, SO, SO many of our learners floundering. Keep speaking out! You’re not alone!
