@corbtt An exponential increase in processing power requirements indicates an error in algorithmic design. This represents not a solution, but rather an attempt at using a brute force shortcut. The natural brain is efficient and operates without wasting energy.

Spoke to a Microsoft engineer on the GPT-6 training cluster project. He kvetched about the pain they're having provisioning infiniband-class links between GPUs in different regions.
Me: "why not just colocate the cluster in one region?"
Him: "Oh yeah we tried that first. We can't put more than 100K H100s in a single state without bringing down the power grid." 🤯

@sbdb_ssh @jake_j_jung Would you rather pay ¥3000-¥8000 yen in train fares, or ¥230?

@jake_j_jung Maybe my brain is too much in a mush state since its 2 A.M, but I dont get it. How exactly did he take advantage of it?

Is anyone interested in testing out a mentor/mentee vibe?
I’d love to find someone grinding and learning JavaScript. Ideally someone who has made it up to React.
My thinking is we do weekly or biweekly check ins, where we review code and set goals. I’ll provide actionable feedback and challenges to push you forward in a healthy way.
When i was self teaching i found a mentor who jumped started my progress like crazy, I’d love to try and replicate that for someone else.
Selfishly, it will also give me some experience with mentoring and code reviewing.
Holla if interested or share if inclined! 🙏🏾

#100DaysOfCode R2 Day 100
It's day 100. I'm done. On this very same day, I'm starting a new path in my career as a software engineer. It's day 100 of my grind, but it's also day 1 of my journey at a big tech consulting conglomerate. Fellow 100DaysOfCode learners--all the best!

What a day. A package arrives and it's a 16" Macbook Pro (M1 Max) for work.
I have a lovely coffee date.
I go to the gym after.
I finish off my day by continuing to read up on networking fundamentals.
Life is good.
I am happy. :)

Revisited a blog I was trying to create, and... I forgot everything. I have no idea where to even begin building from where I left off. I feel like it would be faster just to restart from scratch. Lesson: document things harder.

#100DaysOfCode R2 Day 97
Last day at work.
I'm excited about what the future has for me. I knew that I had grown a lot when I began mentoring other juniors on the job as opposed to only aspiring devs.
I'm still bad, though. Gotta keep grinding.

Things to remember today:
% goes to matching brackets
f jumps to a character on a line (fa goes to the next 'a')
:/word goes to the next occurrence of word
* goes to the next of whatever my cursor is on
Memorizing these should make me way faster.

Finished another module in "The Missing Semester of Your CS Education." If I'm being honest with myself, I started missing days in this challenge at around day 90. Good enough I suppose!
