@rocam54 @mouse_math If the wrong people come to power, disobey stupid orders. If they tell you that you must separate migrant children from their mothers, you can drop to the floor, curl into a ball, & do nothing. Don’t let them make you evil.

@KestrelToni “Just because we enjoy watching people get stabbed to death doesn’t mean we need therapy!”
🙄🙁🔪🩸

@ms_amerie_jayne We evolved to crave sugar, fats, & salt because they were relatively rare back in the day (the millions of prehistoric years when we were evolving). But now they are plentiful, so we consume more of them than is healthy
I’m thinking of going on a cheeseburger & chocolate diet 😁

@PlantRobinson 🎵Now I’m gonna list some things
Listen while I list some things
Here I go listing things
Followed by some more things🎵

@jeanisalunatic It is what it is.
That that is is.
That that is not is not.
I am what I am.
We are who we are.
We do what we do.
Etc
😁

@PlantRobinson Which “eats a human body from the inside” faster: cancer, or this fungus?

Insane rain... Look closely. Since March 1st around 3 feet of rain has fallen across the Hawaiian Islands. Some spots have had more. And not just one island... All of the islands higher peaks have seen ~30"+.

NASA Earth@NASAEarth
Severe storms have brought extreme flooding to Hawaii. Many areas saw 5-10 inches of rain in just four days, with more than 30 inches of rain in some areas. These Landsat images show the extent of flooding before the storms and as of March 14, 2026. go.nasa.gov/4lTyYsT

@KidinaSandbox Now let’s have legal cases about what social media does to adults 🙂

😂 geographic curve fitting. Who knew?
Paul Schleifer@PaulSchleifer
This clearly can’t be a coincidence!

@DebsValidation The real alpha dogs don’t appreciate it when others pretend to be the alpha dogs
🙂

@jeanisalunatic The 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights now looks like a hopelessly liberal/progressive document. I like it, but my nation’s current leadership (Trump and gang) clearly wishes to return to an earlier time with more primitive concepts 🙁
English

@VirtuousIntent @PlantRobinson Yes. Becoming religious (or more religious) is often a response to poverty (economic stress) or other forms of stress. As Earth’s population climbs towards 10 billion & the climate/ecological crisis worsens, people are likely to gravitate towards religion

IQs have dropped, so that tracks.

🚨Recent data shows Gen Z belief in God has surged to 45%, nearly tripling from 16% in 2021

@slimplimsoll But if you say it to someone who hasn’t heard it before, it’s new to them. 🙂

@she_obey I’m no fan of patriarchy. But I see it partly as a competition for wealth, in which it’s accepted that some men win billions while other people starve, & “sharing” is a dirty word. If all the world’s wealth were shared equally, us U.S. folks would have less. I’d be OK with that
English

@MStimley Is the problem wealth though? Through my feminist viewpoint the problem is patriarchy: control of birth mothers, children, property and inheritance. Isolation supports abusers and patriarchy breeds so many of them. Patriarchy also crumbles when enough of us call bullshit.
English

A child raised in a community will feel responsibility for that community, and the community will feel responsible for that child. It's interdependence done right. The nuclear family was created not just to isolate women, but secure men's property rights.
kunta kimchi@_TrillScott
Wake it up. The nuclear family was created to isolate women. It has always been beneficial for the community to be apart of raising kids.
English

@PlantRobinson I’ve heard of candied grasshoppers and chocolate covered ants. Maybe that would work better. Haven’t tried any though
English

@PaulSchleifer “The Lumberjack Song” first appeared on BBC1 in 1969
🙂🤷♂️
English

@brettachapman I’ll soon be 56 and never had kids. So I don’t have to be worried (as others seem to be) that the U.S. could be taken over by China, or Russia, or Muslims or Mexicans. But it would be best if these lands were all eventually returned to the surviving indigenous people
