@HackingDave Agreed. Been trying for years to get into cyber/IT. Desktop support jobs say I'm overqualified, but cyber positions only hiring "senior analysts". I'd work for free or close to it just to gain some experience in the field.

Cybersecurity is similar, hard to break into the field. Companies want fully experienced individuals that can seamlessly integrate with a team to expand their capabilities. We need to do a better job at this in our field to get more folks into it. Talking with my boys that want to come into cybersecurity - it's hard for me to tell them what to do or how to be successful because it's vastly different from when I first broke into the industry.

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. The once-serious discipline of fasting demanded by the Church has lessened over the years and is now pretty minimal: just two days a year we are called to limit ourselves to one meal, which can be supplemented with two collations. Pretty much the whole of Lent used to be as demanding, if not more so. As a direct result of the relaxing of demands, the faithful have gone soft. The point is that we ought to take it upon ourselves to go beyond Bare Minimum Catholicism. I propose all chivalry-enjoyers should considering going entirely without food tomorrow and undertake an extended fast during Holy Week, at the very least. It will be good for us.
