@profyancey You need to engage with what Dr. Mohler actually said and stop spreading slanderous propaganda.

@JosiahHawthorne The context and intention of the podcast matter though. The context is a particular local church, and the intention was explicitly stated as being “to exposit the word of God to the whole church.” The comparison to Lottie Moon is apples and oranges.

@M_W_Moon The example they used was of a woman discussing theology on a podcast. They called that "acting in the office of a pastor." What Moon did was far more than that, no? A little consistency is all I ask.

I hope someone in the SBC will have the consistency to make a motion to strike the name "Lottie Moon" from any and all official SBC organizations and offerings. You know, since women instructing men in theological matters is "acting in the office of a pastor" and thus anathema.

@JaredCBurt It’s a secondary issue, not a tertiary issue. And in many cases, it’s actually a primary issue disguised as a secondary issue.

@jstephentrotter We need to be slower to throw around serious accusations like this. The conversation boils down to: is authority functional or ontological? People can disagree on this question without being guilty of Arianism/modalism. Let’s slow our roll on calling brothers heretics.

Ten years of debate. Thousands of words published. And Dr. Strachan still fundamentally misunderstands the incarnation and promotes neo-Arianism. It would benefit everyone if Dr. Strachan would rise to the occasion and debate this issue in a serious format.

Some of the same people who object to Christians peacefully praying on public property are also quick to defend lawless agitation on private property during church worship services. However, the irony of the local church is that the more it’s bullied, the stronger it becomes.

When you are over the target, you get much more flack. It is true in all aspects of leadership but especially spiritual leadership. The more dangerous you are to the devil, the more you will be opposed.

When we try to make Jesus more palatable than the Bible does, so He’s “acceptable” to a new generation… we’re no longer proclaiming the real Jesus who saves lives. Instead, we’re presenting a false god, conveniently named Jesus. The real Jesus doesn’t need a makeover. We do.

@dmichaelclary There is probably a kernel of truth in what you’re saying, but “more biblically faithful” is asinine.

There needs to be a new and more biblically faithful version of "Don't Waste Your Life" for the next generation. I know many Christians who were afraid of wasting their lives and ended up chasing glory in foreign countries. But they screwed up their marriages and kids as a result. That's actually wasting your life. The updated version we now need is to call people to do something truly radical. Live an ordinary, faithful life of Christian service. Get married, start a family, have lots of children, work with your hands, plug into a local community, and serve a local church.

Penn State beat Clemson, and these are my thoughts on why it matters for South Carolina. Penn State’s 22–10 win over Clemson was decided the old-school way: running the football and dominating the line of scrimmage. Two coaches who directly helped make that happen are now headed to Columbia. Stan Drayton’s running backs controlled the tempo all game long. Quinton Martin Jr. rushed for 101 yards on 20 carries, leading a Penn State ground attack that finished with 135 total rushing yards. It wasn’t flashy, but it was physical, efficient, and relentless, the kind of run game that shortens games, keeps defenses worn down, and closes the door late. Up front, Deion Barnes’ defensive line overwhelmed Clemson. The Tigers were held to just 43 rushing yards, struggled to protect the quarterback, and managed only 10 total points. Dani Dennis-Sutton recorded two sacks, but the bigger story was the constant pressure and disruption that never allowed Clemson to find rhythm. For Gamecock fans, this wasn’t just a bowl game, it was a preview. The same coaches who helped shut down Clemson’s run game, collapse the pocket, and control the clock are now bringing that mentality to South Carolina. Barnes and Drayton didn’t just beat Clemson on the scoreboard. They beat them where it matters most. That should get everyone in garnet and black paying attention. @CoachSBeamer @StanDrayton_ @DBarnes_18
