If he wants to start fixing problems his government his created, he could start right now with the chaos his Education Minister is causing in boards serving ~40% of Ontario students. Higher costs, larger class sizes, spec ed cuts, and teacher layoffs. Shuffle Paul, Doug. #onted

Doug Ford is a mattress salesman, waving accessories in front of your face, hoping that you won’t notice the box spring is being held together by thumbtacks. Doug Ford has utterly wasted an extraordinary mandate theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…

SCOOP: the TDSB is actively fighting a city policy meant to protect school lands from mid-rise development. Critics say this is concrete proof the Ford government is looking to sell off active school properties to developers “to address a funding shortfall of their own making.”

NEW: The Ford government is getting poor grades on a number of priority issues according to a new Ipsos poll, which most say PCs are doing a 'poor' or 'very poor' job on healthcare, education, affordability, the economy and housing. #onpoli

🧵: During last year's snap election, as he fought a campaign under the banner of protecting Ontario from US tariffs, Doug Ford visited Washington, D.C. in his role as premier. Here's a look at how much it cost the public, mid-campaign. Uncovered through FOI. #Onpoli

Ford removed Peel school board trustees because they were going to lay off 60 teachers. His supervisor is now cutting 300 teachers. It's clear that Ford is taking over school boards because trustees refuse to make cuts fast enough to keep up with Ford's provincial funding shortfalls. #ONpoli #OntEd thestar.com/news/gta/hundr…

Reporters criticize the federal FOI regime *all the time*, and the fact that it got measurably worse under Trudeau was reported on consistently. There's no double standard, there's Ontario proposing to lower the standard.
Colin D'Mello | Global News@ColinDMello

Premier Doug Ford says the federal government "can get away with murder" and the media stays quiet - but finds questions from Ontario journalists about an Ontario government decision unfair. "I guess there's double standards and that's fine," Ford says. #onpoli

@tailbouncer @fordnation @PaulCalandra In a perfect world, special education staff provide all the relevant information and necessary supports. However, some parents don’t believe their children are receiving the appropriate supports and it’s important that they know how to effectively advocate for their children.

@tailbouncer @fordnation @PaulCalandra It has been my experience that SEAC (I have served on the committee) does both, certainly advise staff and make recommendations for the board of trustees but also try to inform parents how to effectively advocate for their children. Not all parents know the available supports .

Could you explain how live streaming SEAC is active participation? From my experience, SEAC members represent agencies with possibly a few non agency members. From my experience, SEAC advice is just that, advice. Whether the Trustees take it or not is up to them. From my experience, SEAC member agencies represent an exceptionality, advising on the distribution of funding for all exceptionalities. From my experience, many agency members remain for years, long after their children are in school. SEAC is a coveted membership for Trustees. Streaming SEAC is not active participation by parents. It’s watching the performance of some sort of control or power that only exists in the minds of the members. And the politicalization of SEAC as one of the rungs to Trustee/Municipal election. You want to watch a group of people read reports and plans and fight for their cause over the others, banking on Trustees (parents and the media) to agree with them? In my opinion, SEAC was intended to be arms length from, but has hopped in bed with, Trustees and that has made Special Education political, not advisory.
