Doesn't help that from what I have heard and seen that the "sexual" stuff is very tame, especially compared to the gore.

It is blatant identity politics, Hollyweird has been doing it for years with zero regard for the stories, we're tired of it, and clowns like you can't save it.

@Adenoman @Grummz Most apps and services already have that in their ToS at this point. Very, very high chance that if you have any sort of digital footprint, you have agreed to have your data used to train at least one AI. That's not counting the Chinese ones that give 0 fucks about IP.

everyone is tired of these people. weird how the anti ai people are the same people who harass artists daily on here for "wrong art". if you use the machine learning data bases to find data to learn from, you're doing just fine..... i do the same thing. i ask grok "hey find me a few things on this" i ask for sources. i go look. if anything, grok has actually got me off the same 3 websites and shown me others. grok is also helping me understand rimworld modding. what certain things mean in coding and can show me where the information comes from.

@kabrutusdeid I rarely touch a game when it comes out anymore, especially if it is over $40. So many are steaming piles these days, and I have enough of a backlog and other hobbies that I have no problem forgetting about a game until I stumble across it on sale for $20 or less.

Omar Dessouky, an analyst at Bank of America, recently said that Grand Theft Auto VI should launch at 80 dollars because “the industry needs it.” "We’ve heard from participants that the industry, which is considered crisis-ridden, would struggle to sell games for $80 if GTA 6 came onto the market for $70. Even if GTA 6 does launch at 80 dollars and sells pretty well, that still doesn’t mean it’s going to set a new standard price across the industry. Just look at how many 70 dollar games end up flopping. At the same time, plenty of games priced at 40 or even 50 dollars turn into huge hits. Take Helldivers 2 and Expedition 33 for example. You can go even further and point to Palworld, which launched at 30 dollars, made a massive splash, and sold millions of copies thanks to word of mouth. And then there’s Hollow Knight: Silksong, which released at just 19.99 and saw such overwhelming demand that it pushed Steam to its limits at launch. The reality is that today we have more options than ever when it comes to great games at lower price points. On top of that, there are constant sales on digital platforms, especially on Steam. From AAA games to indie titles that are often more creative and fun despite much smaller budgets, players aren’t exactly short on choices. So sure, Grand Theft Auto VI can try to charge 80. It’ll probably still sell well because it’s GTA and people have been waiting over a decade for it. But that doesn’t mean 80 dollar games suddenly become the norm. Mario Kart World already tried to push that boundary and fell flat. As gamers, we should hope GTA 6 sells below industry expectations, sending a strong message to publishers that we are not willing to pay absurd prices for games that are increasingly uncreative, buggy, and often packed with DEI.

@Bearley77 @Grummz You're a little over 5 years late there, Earley... Cyberpunk 2077 was around the front end of the big push for that stuff. Technically the infiltration started a bit over a decade ago, before GGv1, but took off around '19/'20. And tbf, the narrative fit the dystopian bleakness.

@Grummz I just downloaded Cyberpunk 2077 from Xbox Gamepass. First thing in character creation is, pick your "body type". Obviously one is male the other female, but the game doesn't specify. On the next screen you choose your characters voice, masculine or feminine.

Guys, things have changed. There used to be so much woke stuff in games to talk about and push back on. But there is so much less now. Even at GDC it was muted. You all made a difference. Keep it that way.
