@thmsenglsh 25% off the sales price seems crazy, not so familiar with gas economics but given it’s a commodity and producers are price takers then it could dampen production even more in a market downturn if it becomes uneconomic which would hurt jobs, gdp & higher prices 4 consumer longrun

@thmsenglsh If you consider the oil biz as an analogue, royalties whether paid to landowners or governments are usually somewhere in the region of $2-5 a barrel which when you’re producing 10s of 1000s a day add up but net that barrel might still cost $30-60 to extract.

@MacroOpm @DannyAlper It’s funny you say that as the Geelong bypass city-bound has mostly rangers et al sitting in that lane. Dangerous when you have to change lanes to allow on ramp traffic through in heavy/peak use periods. I think there’s an educational opportunity here.

It's about 75km from Melbourne to Geelong which should take about 45 minutes at 100kmh. Increasing the speed to 110kmh would reduce the trip to 41 minutes. All that extra danger for 4 minutes and that's only if there is no traffic. The LNP #springst policy ideas are shit.
