Trump just gave up a lot of classified information in that briefing.
To be clear, he’s the president so he can do whatever he wants in that regard, but it’s not very smart.
The failure of the U.K. to do anything to support U.S., including early basing access, is a major problem for the U.K. security establishment. Trump anger is reflected across Pentagon/IC. War was a mistake, but U.K. should have done something.
@MadScots1@TomRtweets Again, they can stop off and crew swap at RAF Lakenheath or RAF Mildenhall too. Their sortie for Midnight Hammer was even longer coming direct from Moffit.
Also, your basing article is from February and was before the strikes ever took place. The UK officially announced that the US could use Cyprus on March 1st. The first drone strike on Cyprus was not until late at night on March 2nd. So Iran didn’t attack Cyprus until after the UK allowed US basing there.

So the "airmen rescue" gibberish is absolutely a cover for a failed US ground operation, right? It makes zero sense as currently being presented/reported.
Diego Garcia would also be a “stop off” as you put it. We can refuel B-2s (and did both times) in the air. So no, he’s not right. The comment he made was the UK didn’t give us any bases, which is demonstrably wrong. He’s complaining about specific bases that Trump wanted. And the thing is, we were granted basing access to Cyprus on March 1st and the first drone strike on Cyprus was on March 2nd. So they took a huge leap for us in doing that making themselves a target.
@chris_komatsu@TomRtweets your wrong and clearly dont know what they ask for and even flip flop starmer said the drone was inbound before he said yes to having the bases
No evidence the second soldier in Iran was actually rescued btw
We're just taking the most untrustworthy administration in American history at their word
@JeffHulme@TVietor08@rinsana yes you would let me slow it down for your SF train this all the time they put little birds in MC130s not C130s gets them there faster
@TVietor08@rinsana plus the reporting on the C 130's by left media that it must have been a big mistake or the mission was more than a rescue because "you wouldn't use a C 130 to rescue. So if the detail wasn't covered the media would have harped on lack of transparency.
Trump and his team are disclosing a LOT of detail about this rescue mission - how they found the US pilots, how they tricked the Iranians, CIA capabilities - when we are still at war, pilots are flying over Iran daily, and this could happen again. Seems like a bad idea!
@chris_komatsu@TomRtweets no he is right lakenheath and mildenhall are stop offs they wanted at least garcia for the b-2s to refuel which could have been done and all starmer had to do is denied it no one would know
We were give unrestricted access to (and use of) RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall since before any of the strikes. That’s been the status quo for years now. Our F-111s that participated in El Dorado Canyon also took off from Lakenheath when France and Spain denied airspace. You’re wrong.
They know what they’re doing. Didn’t you hear what the general - Gen. Dan Caine the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said about that very thing?
He said he would not be giving specifics and details that would give up anything critical in the event they need to do this again. He didn’t.
