In a new paper from MIT FutureTech, my co-authors and I investigate AI performance across *thousands* of representative tasks in the U.S. economy. We find that capabilities are already high and rising quickly, though not in the same “craching wave” pattern found by @METR_Evals ⬇️

Fine-Tuning is officially a waste of money.. 💀 Stanford and Sambanova dropped a paper called "agentic context engineering" (ACE) and it is mindblowing. Instead of treating a prompt like a static text box, ACE turns it into a living playbook. They split the AI into three distinct roles: A Generator (does the work), a Reflector (analyzes the failures), and a Curator. When the AI makes a mistake, the Curator doesn't rewrite the whole prompt. It applies targeted, surgical "delta updates." It adds a single rule. It tweaks one specific heuristic. The AI learns entirely from its own execution feedback. Did the code run? Did the tool work? Zero human labels required. The results completely rewrite the economics of AI agents. Tested on the AppWorld leaderboard, a small, open-source model using ACE didn't just compete with the most expensive, proprietary enterprise agents on the market. It matched them. On the hardest tests, it actually beat them. All while reducing adaptation latency by 87%.

@mikiane C’est comme dire en 2000: squarespace bat le software engineering. Si tu veux vraiment faire de l’IA à la pointe sur ton domaine qui soit pas cher, rapide et accurate pr tes spécificités, il faut apprendre à entraîner tes propres modèles !

This is very intriguing: A personal, proactive AI that acts before you even ask is something new and sounds like science fiction right now. But if you think about it, it makes total sense and we’ll see this become the norm in the next few years. This is probably the next evolution of where these agents are going.

@zocomputer I can't really show you because I keep the access private but I gave a free API key for my public library, Zo built a MCP server and can search the DB for me. It then send me personnalized commented bibliography based on what I asked or its current mind.

Je suis le seul à me dire que c'est complètement con de comparer la consommation d'une voiture en pétrole à celle par électricité (tous contextes) au prétexte que c'est "de l'énergie" ? À ce titre là, les calories dépensées par le fonctionnement du corps aussi sont de l'énergie.

En ces temps troublés et compliqués, un peu de réconfort avec du bon Luc Julia de montagne : on respire, on oublie "la science-fiction", on profite, n'ayez pas peur, oubliez les "réseaux asociaux", apprenez l'esprit critique, et vous saurez que tout ira bien. 🏔️☕️😌
