@DGratz13 @BarkleyforPrez @KyleMalzhan Maybe it varies by state, but in NYS, much of the time nobody is getting paid to run HS game and shot clocks. Been that way for decades. All volunteers, and I’ve never heard of any school having a volunteer shortage.

@Coach_Runyan @BarkleyforPrez @KyleMalzhan Yeah, the same arguments have been used forever. They’re all worn out. NY has had a shot clock for decades. Guess what? There are 0 concerns about buying them, replacing them and/or getting people to run them.

@BarkleyforPrez @KyleMalzhan This is a an argument used by ppl who don’t want change. Read my post above. Once we implemented it in KS schools suddenly have the money and got them. They all find someone to operate. That’s not a real argument. All the former detractors now say “glad we have it”

It's happened again! Carle Place (boys) & William Floyd (girls) lose to NON-PUBLIC SCHOOLS in the state basketball playoffs. Carle Place lost to an Albany area charter school. Floyd lost to a Rochester private school. Something needs to be done about this. @NYSPHSAA

I love how much nicer the Hartford Civic Center looks as they do their renovations. Even if the bulk of it isnt for the average fan. I wish NYS and the City of Albany would do the same for the biggest arena in their capital city.

@MagicManiac68 Tough call. Politics definitely play a part. Hard to put a 16-4 (11-3) Suburban team 4, no matter how much they are reeling. Committee typically likes to protect Suburban publics. A #1 CBA vs #4 Green Tech semi assures Shaker the easier path.

Amsterdam has won 11 straight by 21.4ppg. Last loss coming Dec 20 to Shen. The two meet again today. Shen has had a rough week, eeking out a win vs Schenectady and an upset loss to Guilderland. Rams roll? 👎🏻 Expect Shen’s best. Shenendehowa 63, Amsterdam 52 ⛏ RECORD: 28-11

@Sect2BoysHoopNY 31* not 21, but point still stands. For Shen, this Amsterdam loss would mean less by virtue of their 24 point win over them in December, but Guilderland just hurts.

@Sect2BoysHoopNY So, Shen lost 69-66. There’s got to be a serious discussion at this point if Green Tech goes in as the 3 over Shen with 2 losses over Shen’s 4. GT’s Catskill loss to open the season was bad, but then they beat them by 21. Can’t lose to G’land AND Amsterdam and expect the 3.

@Siena85 @bmerzbach Also doesn’t help that they chose to replace every upper level seat first, while postponing the replacement of the lower bowl to a later date. When will that happen? No idea. But the upper bowl is closed for a majority of events there anyways so how does that even make sense.

@bmerzbach I understand it’s a county owned facility so I’d be asking the county executive why nothing has changed. I know the bathroom and concessions situations were a nightmare for the women’s ncaa tournament. But no action after.

Not surprised but it’s a shame how local Albany officials have allowed the downtown area to degrade so badly. This was more about logistics than anything. MVP needs some renovation as well.
