To the pre Christian germanic pagans, homosexuality was such a shameful sin that those guilty should not be seen even in death, our ancestors would press the offending homosexual under the bog with a wicker basket until they drowned. This ended with the Christianisation of Europe. Something to consider next time a Christian calls paganism gay.

@RebuildPaganism @ColeColeumuq These are literally false quotes and taken out of context. True pagans are ashamed of you because you are ungodly and uncultured. And unclean, because you defile everything you touch.

@LudwigLaubach @TheHonbeast Look, you moron, pure christianity is contrary to art, and christian art only arises when christianity is eroded, diluted and penetrated by fragments of antichristian mentalities.

@TheHonbeast What kind of retard would claim Christians hate beauty and art when the most beautiful structures, paintings, statues, etc. were created by Christians, to glorify God.

@belikebei Es irónico porque ahí en ese caso son los más creyentes de la "palabra" de Dios, pero luego mira cómo nos van matando, violando, empalando, criticando...en fin, son seres de estudio.

@Augustoinvictus @bismarkhen This is lying for the sake of it. To criticize what you don't like, you have to know it. Those paganisms are also transcendent, and participation in immanence are particular manifestations that do not encompass transcendence. Have a little shame, man.

@MagnusFajra @bismarkhen For most of those you mentioned, the gods were part of the cosmos, not outside of it, there is no "outside" the universe, the universe was eternal and that was all that existed. There was no transcendence or higher reality for them.

Plenty of greek philosophers, Plato in particular, would find Christianity and Islam to be great and favour them over the olympian religion

@kyriako_monza @bismarkhen Indeed. And that god is the god of neoplatonism, not the christian one. The judeochristian god Yahweh is an emanation god, just like all other gods, but with the difference that he is also evil.

@babyhellenist @bismarkhen Plato is considered "almost a saint" for prefiguring Christ and approaching truth through natural reason. Platonism denies all the naturalistic and immanentist precepts of the Greek polytheistic religions, as it affirms a transcendent reality btw

@MattisRedacted @bismarkhen Plato was and would have been a pagan. To call him a possible christian is not only retarded, but also shows a complete lack of reading his dialogues. Either that, or simply don't understand them.

@bismarkhen Christianity, yes, Islam probably no. Christianity is very closely intertwined with Greek logic and philosophy, while Islam ignores logic entirely as a facet of the religion.

@Karlthethird9 @EClaussen Obviously not. Mythology consists of symbolic and metaphorical narratives that contain metaphysical, mystical and philosophical truths. The gods are teachers, and the Odyssey is a treatise on the soul's journey and development.

@Karlthethird9 @EClaussen That's simply because you don't know theology, and it's legitimate not to be interested in it, but boasting of ignorance is shameful. And a christian Rome is not roman.

@EClaussen Romans don't even exist anymore as a people, and you're not Greek. The enduring western culture Rome left us was Christian, not pagan. Idk how worshipping the greek gods can be anything other than a weird larp lol

@EClaussen From what I do know about Aristotle is that he proposed one "unmoved mover" and mostly rejected all the other olympian gods, which sounds a lot more like it fits with Christianity than weird statues of the greek gods. Are you even Greek?
