@TexansCommenter Excluding tight ends, I actually think we have 7 offensive linemen that can run block this year

Last year injuries forced the Texans into jumbo, using Blake Fisher as an extra “TE” just to hold up in the run game. Now with Moreau & Klein, Caley can actually live in 12/13 personnel with real tight ends, keeping a pass threat on the field and opening up the entire playbook.

YES. Really draft grades and power rankings are editorial constructs. Not necessary, but a way of organizing how you talk about teams. And they get reactions. My reaction since forever is this is not sports, this is feelzball wankery. /also sometimes pollutes onfield analysis
Phoenix@MajinFee

If the Texans draft order was: Kayden McDonald at 26 Keylan Rutledge at 36 Kamari Ramsey at 59 Febechi Nwaiwu at 106 Marlin Klien at 123 Aiden Fisher at 141 Wade Woodaz at 204 Lewis Bond at 243 Media would be giving the Texans higher draft grades. Because at the end of the day people don’t ranks drafts on players they do it off where players were taken.

The Texans traded for David Montgomery. Then, they signed a guard in Wyatt Teller and drafted one in Keylan Rutledge in the 1st round. They are going to be that ugly smashmouth offense that pounds the rock. Montgomery is my only target on this offense.

@JeromeRStevens1 I didn’t get it at first either. I then figured it out. Think of him as reverse Jaylin Noel. Now is the explosive downfield threat who can play some underneath, while Bond the underneath guy who can play some downfield.

I see a lot of people high on the Bond pick by the Texans! Admittedly I don't see it, at least not yet! But I'm hopefully to be dead wrong! I would love for him to turn into our version of Victor Cruz or someone along those lines! Time will tell!

OK, I now think we should make every owner have to make one pick by themselves from their own research! Televize it!

#Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said their 5th-round pick of Clemson RB Adam Randall was made by owner Steve Bisciotti. “When we were down in Florida, Steve was begging for a draft pick—and he owns the team. I said, ‘Yeah, Steve, of course you can have a draft pick.’” 😅 (📽️ @Ravens)

@TexansCommenter I really hope they don’t just shoehorn Woodaz into only a special teamer and try to develop him. I think he could be good.

Nick Caserio says Febechi & Woodaz were both guys they would've considered picking at 91 (the pick that traded away in the LV trade up for McDonald). Says there was a run on OL at top of round. "Those were 2 players we had conviction collectively. Coaching staff had a vision & role for them. Frank, relative to Woodaz had a vision & a role." Really feels like this draft they targeted a small group of specific players.
Houston Stressans@TexansCommenter

Nick Caserio on pick 91 that they flipped to 117 as part of the Vegas trade to move of for McDonald: “The players that we’re talking about tomorrow, it’s the same players that we would’ve been talking about at 91. That trade, similar to the Rutledge trade, it was more about repositions the picks because we really didn’t govern anything up other than slots.”

@Texans_Thoughts Just wait until he’s gotten taught pass rush moves from not only the Texans coaching staff but Rankins, Anderson, and Hunter.

Why are people doing the “Man CJ Stroud gonna be running for his life” stuff. They just spent like 90 million on the OL and drafted a guy in the first round. 3 new projected starters included. Tf else yall want.

Nick Caserio on pick 59: “We had multiple discussions. We were potentially trading the pick, moving it, had a few deals in place & those fell apart, so we had a couple guys we were talking about picking & Marlin was one of them. Marlin is kind of a no-brainer. Player we really liked.”

Oscar Delp was drafted in round 3 with pick 73 in the 2026 draft class. He scored a 9.83 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 26 out of 1471 TE from 1987 to 2026. ras.football/ras-informatio…
