Trump won the election, but more than 72 million people voted for Democrats and they don’t expect us to roll over and play dead. We will have a peaceful transition of power, followed by a vigorous challenge from the party out of power, because that’s how democracy works.

Israel just bombed residential area near Beirut airport as a civilian plane was taking off, violated Security Council resolution SCR 1701 and international law with absolutely no consequences. This is another war crime and the International Criminal Court remains silent.

So the richest man in the world spent $130 million to elect Donald Trump. Now he's being put in charge of a "government efficiency" agency while controlling corporations with billions in government contracts that are also under federal investigations. See how this works?

He was the worst President in history. And when he got voted out, he tried to stage a coup. Then he stole national secrets and sold the ones he didn't store in the bathroom. He was convicted of fraud, found liable of sexual assault and convicted of 34 felonies. He is half a billion dollars in debt, owned by God only knows who, and the biggest national security risk the nation has ever had. But at least he's not a Black woman.

What a devastating indictment of our country.

Whatever the final outcome, the fact that Trump—a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, pathological liar, virulent bigot and utterly reckless manager who kowtows to Putin and despises democracy— is this close to regaining the White House is deeply disturbing.

No matter what happens, it saddens me deeply that rape, felonies, trying to overthrow our democracy, misogyny, racism and transphobia are somehow not deal breaks for 10’s of millions of Americans.

In an ideal scenario the President of the United States and the worst person in the world would be two different people.
