The Strait of Hormuz is still closed to the US and their allies. Bombing will not re-open it. Only oil prices above $150, or stopping the bombing can allow it to potentially re-open. Even then the oil infrastructure is so badly damaged in the Middle East it will take months.

BTC seems to want to visit $76-78k which would be similar in structure to 2022 bear market rallies. When it visits there, likely by first week of April, it will be time to consider a short again.

Truflation US CPI is 1.08% today, with more rises on the horizon related to gasoline spikes. Today, the BLS CPI also releases its February CPI, aka headline inflation. January CPI came in at 2.4%, surprising markets to the downside, but in line with our expectations. Today, we estimate February BLS CPI to come at 2.4%, in the middle of the current market consensus of 2.3-2.5%. To predict the BLS CPI, we age our data and run regression analysis between the two data sets, extrapolating the potential BLS numbers.

Straits of Hormuz are effectively shut for the next 2 weeks even in the best case scenario. No major ships will sail through it without sufficient assurance it's safe enough to do so, even a 1% risk of getting attacked is too high. Restated insurance alone wouldn't solve this as long as the perceived risk of getting hit is high enough from shipowner perspective.
