Watching the interview with Dr Hussam Abu-Safoueh describe the siege and bombing of Kamal Adwan hospital on Jabalyah camp weist remember Promo Levi's prophetic words: "Then for the first time we became aware that our language lacks words to express this offence, the demolition of a man. In a moment, with almost prophetic intuition, the reality was revealed to us: we had reached the bottom. It is not possible to sink lower than this; no human condition is more miserable than this, nor could it conceivably be so. " If This Is a Man

I keep thinking of what to say but I am speechless. How has it become accepted to scroll past videos of cats and dogs eating the flesh of slain Palestinians? Of Zionists burning people alive day after day? If it weren't for complicity, they wouldn't have impunity.

William Schabas, author of the 741-page textbook, "Genocide in International Law" - says it's a genocide in Gaza. John Quigley, author of the 300-page book, "The Genocide Convention: An International Law Analysis" - says it's a genocide in Gaza. @martinshawx, author of the books "What is Genocide?" and "War and Genocide" - says it's a genocide. @dirkmoses, author of the 600-page book, "The Problems of Genocide" - says it's a genocide in Gaza. Raz Segal, author of "Genocide in the Carpathians" - says it's a genocide in Gaza. Amos Goldberg, author of books on Holocaust, says it's a genocide in Gaza @bartov_omer, author of several books on Holocaust and genocide, says it's a genocide in Gaza. @FranceskAlbs submitted two well argued reports on genocide to the UN. @amnesty wrote a 300 page report concluding it is a genocide in Gaza. @hrw wrote a 200 page report concluding it is extermination and genocidal. But why to listen to the experts in law and genocide studies? Why to bother to read the extensive human rights reports? Listen to @piersmorgan instead; he has a gut feeling.
Piers Morgan@piersmorgan

The UN has only recognised three genocides under the 1948 legal definition: the Cambodian genocide (2 million killed), the Rwandan genocide (1 million killed) and the Srebrenica massacre (8,000 killed in 2 weeks). That’s why I don’t describe Israel’s war on Hamas as a genocide.

Now HRW has also arrived at the same conclusion as most other leading legal authorities. Genocide is ongoing in Gaza. Denying civilians clean water only has one outcome They too call for an end to arms sales to Israel and sanctions. Action is needed not words.

For the past 4 days I have been in an Israeli jail, after being assaulted in the middle of Tel Aviv by police officers without uniform, shoved into an unmarked car and taken across the country to a police station. I was handcuffed and then repeatedly beaten, choked, threatened and insulted by police officers – for no other reason than their sadistic pleasure. I was then taken to Ashkelon prison, where for the course of four days I was dragged around courts and holding cells, strip-searched many times, put in cells with the Israeli far-right, at times denied food and water and kept in the cold. The conditions in prison are as one would expect – the cells are infested with cockroaches and bedbugs, the prisoners are constantly mistreated and neglected, especially those requiring medical support. I watched a man with a severe migraine being denied seeing a doctor for his three day stay and denied even the simplest painkillers like ibuprofen. Another cell mate of mine was screaming in pain for hours throughout the night and was only taken away after he started throwing up and practically passed out. If these are the conditions Israeli Jews are subjected to, you can imagine the conditions for the Palestinians of the West Bank and Gaza. I now have three new charges against me – assaulting a police officer (completely made up, the exact opposite of what happened), desecrating a memorial (for putting a Free Palestine sticker on the platform where Israelis come to watch Gaza get bombed), and “disturbing public order”. Today I was finally released by the court, but it’s likely that I will be called again. This is crystal clear political persecution, and the pressure on me is ramping up and it’s unclear how long I will be able to continue my work unabated. Anyone who sees this and claims that Netanayhu's government is only fighting Hamas is not a person operating in good faith. This is collective punishment-a complete annihilation of Palestinian lives and livelihoods; of pasts and futures. Where is the coverage and condemnation?
Assal Rad@AssalRad

Look at what Israel is still doing in north Gaza with barely any media coverage and zero condemnation from Western leaders. This is not war, it’s annihilation.

Absolutely fucking wild stuff here, beyond the wackiest 80s movie satire: the PM televised thanking military personnel for their vital work but nobody can explain to the public what that work is, because that work is “materially supporting crimes against humanity”.
