No tenía sentido, dijeron. No nosotros.

A North St. Louis mother prepares about 100 free lunches every school day for neighborhood children and has been doing so for more than a decade. Champale Anderson, a mother of six, runs the daily meal effort from her home kitchen in the Penrose neighborhood of North St. Louis, Missouri. She started in 2014 after noticing children coming home from school without enough to eat. Since then, she has continued preparing and handing out meals every weekday, often reaching around 100 lunches or more each day. The meals are simple and consistent, often including sandwiches, snacks, fruit cups, and drinks. Her own children sometimes help pack the lunches. Kids in the neighborhood can come directly to her home to receive food through an open-door system. She funds the effort through her work as a healthcare provider, along with community donations and a GoFundMe page for the mission known as Champ’s Teardrops. Her daily work has become a long-standing support system in a neighborhood where some families face ongoing food insecurity. What began as a small response to what she saw has continued into a years-long commitment that still runs today in 2025 and 2026. For many families, it remains a reliable source of help that shows how consistent care from one home can reach an entire community. (Photo: Champale Anderson)

BREAKING: News legends Dan Rather and Sam Donaldson along with 250 journalists sign blistering letter demanding the White House Correspondents’ Dinner “stop the polite nonsense” forcefully call out Trump to his face! In a powerful open letter, retired star journalists Rather (94) and Donaldson (92), along with more than 250 other members of the press, are urging the White House Correspondents’ Association to stop the usual polite nonsense and use this week’s dinner to directly confront Donald Trump’s unprecedented attacks on the free press. The letter states that Trump’s “systematic, sustained, and unprecedented” assault on journalism – including retaliatory bans, lawsuits, defunding public broadcasting, arrests of reporters, and constant verbal attacks – makes it impossible for the dinner to continue as “business as usual.” They are calling on the WHCA to issue a strong, public defense of the First Amendment from the podium, deliver a direct condemnation of Trump’s behavior, and toast the Constitution in front of the man who has spent years trying to destroy press freedom. This is a remarkable moment: some of the most respected names in American journalism are saying enough is enough. Enough normalizing. Enough smiling and clapping while Trump attacks the free press every single day. The letter makes clear that freedom of the press is not a partisan issue but a cornerstone of democracy, and must be defended. If you support real journalists standing up to Trump’s war on the free press, please like and share this post.

OMG. My wife and I found these three on a hiking trip tied up to a pole with wire so short, they couldn't lay down and with no food or water, not that they could reach it even if there was. We knocked on the door, but there was no answer, so we took them. The white one collapsed on the way to the car, so I had to carry her the rest of the way. Animal cruelty should be a Class C Felony with a mandatory 10-year prison term.

🇺🇸🫡 When the National Anthem audio completely fails at a high school basketball game … this absolute legend steps up, belts out a powerful rendition like it’s his job, hand over heart from the stands. Then? He casually sits back down and goes right back to his popcorn like nothing happened🍿😅 Pure American moment. Respect.

In 1934, Joseph Ratzinger, later Pope Benedict XVI, wrote a beautiful letter addressed to 'Baby Jesus' requesting Christmas presents He was 7 years old "Dear Baby Jesus, quickly come down to earth. You will bring joy to children. Also bring me joy. I would like a Volks-Schott (a Mass prayers book), green clothing for Mass (clerical clothing) and a heart of Jesus. I will always be good. Greetings from Joseph Ratzinger"
