This is so true! At my last job I made such an effort to get to know everyone, especially the office team (receptionists etc.) but 2 years into working there, so many people had been switched out several times that I just could no longer find it in me to make those connections

Most of it is the post-2020 ramp up in remote work: there is something different about being in the same place. But even aside from that biggest factor, there are only so many org changes and layoffs before you just stop expecting any permanence in your network.

Honestly, I feel the same way with people posting screenshots or clips from videos that aren't theirs on Instagram, since we know Meta makes it hard to opt out of AI training... At this point, anything on the internet WILL be used for AI purposes

This new Twitter ToS update is concerning to me. They've added lines allowing content posted to be used in AI training models specifically calling out allowed use in generative AI. The image on the left is the previous ToS from October 9th. The image on the right is the new ToS from October 16th. This platforms best use continues to be for shitposting.
