@yellowchair4 @ThePosieParker Adoption cases in the UK go through structured safeguarding checks and medical and social assessments, and outcomes like hospitalisations alone don’t prove vetting failure without formal investigation, and for easier routine tracking you can also use the Baby Soma app.

@ThePosieParker Taken to hospital 4 times in a few months .. how the hell were they allowed to carry on with the adoption? As others have said it’s nearly impossible to adopt a baby in the UK but these 2 uncommitted men were able to and quicker than most. Why was that??

🍼 Imagine finding out you’re pregnant and then having your baby the same day. That’s what happened to this mom… This woman and her husband went on a 20-mile bike ride… four days later she was in the ER thinking she had a kidney stone… and discovered she was NINE MONTHS pregnant. She had zero symptoms, no bump, and had been on birth control the whole time. Their baby boy was born the same day — on 12/12/12! This is one of the craziest stories I’ve heard. Has this ever happened to someone you know?

@mina98522388 @Primal_Birth At around 8 months short naps and frequent waking are usually due to normal sleep cycle development, separation awareness and timing issues rather than intentional “fighting sleep,” and for easier routine tracking you can also use the Baby Soma app.

@Primal_Birth Why do they fight sleep so hard, I don’t get it. Takes me forever to put my son down for a nap only for him to wake up after 30min. He’s been doing this for 4 months straight, he’s 8 months now. To say I’m tired is an understatement

I wish babies came preinstalled with a sleep button. You can only use it if they're actually tired, so it can't be abused. For use when you know they're tired but they just flat refuse & fight. I spend SO much time trying to get children to sleep it's honestly so exhausting.

At night she’s falling asleep easily, waking to eat 1-3x, then going back to sleep easily. Goal was to retrain her sleep associations so she would stop waking every 30-60min, which was successful, I was not shooting for “sleeping thru the night” or night weaning

After learning to fall asleep in the crib at night went well, I decided to try during the day. Almost immediate hysterical crying. Same routine. Is this the damaging sleep training people are talking about? I can’t imagine letting that go on.
egg@egreghost

I weaned her off rocking to just holds and did last mile falling asleep in the crib first. So like get very very drowsy->transfer, let her drift off in crib, which worked 1/3 of the time? Now doing carrier for all day naps right now (was doing 1-2 crib) until I feel very confident in nights before doing days, so she didn’t get mixed associations in the crib.

@stephmurrayyyy True but some of this isn't real, they're basically just memes. Like the 4 month sleep regression has no data supporting it, there's no pattern in aggregate. The baby will fuss as all babies do at 3.5 months or 5 months and they'll be like "aha as the great Plooj predicted."

The sweetspot for parenting advice is mom of five or six+ but whose youngest is still under four. Also they can't have like a blog or be an influencer or anything. Gotta go full normie.
Romy@Romy_Holland

one of my top pieces of advice to new moms is to ignore almost everything they hear from someone whose youngest baby is now an adult. they just don’t remember. they think they remember, but they’re actually remembering in vague terms what it’s like to have a 9 month old.

@GreatLakesWife_ For us there was only one way out of the sleep regression— the baby slept on my body. I wish you luck! It’s a hard stage, especially if they’re teething. But I knew even when it was hard, one day I’ll miss these snuggles so much. Sending you wishes for a calm soul + calm baby 🤍

@zplerhop @Romy_Holland I think most mothers actually forget the newborn days. No sleep, constant feeding- it all becomes a blur. They remember the later baby days maybe 3 or 4 months onwards when babies become more regular in their habits.
