@arralodges is a unique destination. It’s a cocktail of tourist attractions, amenities, activities and products. You better call it a one stop shop tourist nexus. Be it adventure seekers, holiday makers, marine tourists, foodies, nature lovers, honeymooners etc you are all covered. With an epicenter on a peninsula described as the perfect wilderness, next to a section of the Albert Nile with mystical formation like a delta including several oxbow lakes, featuring islands one of which the Dollo Island has summit views featuring 3 districts, 3 peninsulas and 3 oxbow lagoon lakes. The Omi Arra peninsula with dramatic rocks and boulders, primates and variety of trees including the #amarula tree is only 15 kilometers from #Otce mountain whose summit is so scenic and the only mountain in the world from which you have an aerial view of the nile and 60 kilometers from #Zoka forest The views of the albert nile and the oxbow lakes is not only scenic, picturesque and panoramic but mimics an infinity view created by fusion of the horizon and the nile water that turns orange at sunset The peninsula is a locus that acts as a hub to all these fascinating attractions and activities forming a magical whole Today Friday 7.30pm @chillingubctv and @ubctvuganda will air an exclusive excursion from @arralodges to #otce Watch it live and streaming on youtu.be/wDzeM3-8TZ4?si…

Beautiful #Dollo island in #AlbertNile often mistaken for you can guess what Jus 20 minutes boat ride from @arralodges you find an island we called the island of three 3s. At its summit you can view 3 peninsulas, 3 districts of #Moyo #Obongi & #Adjumani and 3 Ox-bow lakes attached to the albert nile Dollo island is perfect for hiking, birding, photography and viewing the uniquey dramatic formations of the albert nile. You can clearly catch a view of #Otce mountain and its gentle rise side like the #TableMount. Otce happens to to be only mountain from which you can catch an aerial view of the mighty nile. It’s also a birder’s haven and a photography hotspot @arralodges organizes excursions to mount #Otce The video is credit to @OumaJr256 For a complete island experience the activities are coupled with albert nile. The pristine waters of the albert nile, its calm nature, vastness and attached lagoons or ox-bow lakes some reaching 10 kilometers in diameter with several islands, wetlands, lining undulating hills, great sunrises and sunsets and birding life makes it the greatest water sports, marine tourism and boating/cruising destination in Uganda All these activities are available at @arralodges making Arra not just a lodge but a full #destination We are position to be called the Fascinating Arra Peninsula Destination with Arra as a hub/nexus and the various attractions and activities on #Otce #Dollo on the #AlbertNile and #Zoka connected from the Arra epicenter by spoke roads aided by various locomotives available at Arra #VisitArra #VisitMadiLand #VisitWestNile

I am happy to announce that @EUinUG is opening a Consulate General on Kalangala Islands to promote Ugandan pineapple exports. Ugandan pineapple is the best in the world - the EU must experience it! A dedicated airport is being built to ensure it arrives fresh in Brussels. 🇪🇺🍍🇺🇬

Uganda's decision to ban single-use plastics is a significant step towards mitigating the country's plastic pollution crisis 🌍. However, the effectiveness of this ban hinges on robust implementation, enforcement, and a shift in consumer behavior. Plastic pollution is a pressing issue in Africa, with far-reaching consequences for biodiversity, communities, and the environment. The Impact of Plastic Pollution Plastic pollution affects Africa's ecosystems in numerous ways: - Litter and Pollution: Plastic waste litters streets, waterways, and landscapes, degrading natural beauty and causing blockages in drainage systems. For instance, plastic bags often clog drains, leading to flooding during rains, as seen in many Ugandan towns. - Harm to Wildlife: Animals ingest plastic, mistaking it for food, leading to death or severe health issues. In Lake Victoria, plastic waste threatens fish populations, impacting both ecosystems and livelihoods. - Economic Impacts: Local economies, particularly those reliant on tourism and fishing, suffer due to plastic pollution. For example, tourism in national parks is affected when visitors encounter polluted environments. The Risks of Weak Bans Weak or poorly enforced bans can lead to: - Increased Pollution: Without strict enforcement, businesses may continue using single-use plastics, exacerbating pollution. - Greenwashing: Symbolic bans allow companies to claim environmental responsibility without making meaningful changes. - Health Risks: Burning plastics releases toxic chemicals, posing health risks to communities. Pathways to Real Change Achieving a plastic-free future requires: 1. Strong Policies and Enforcement: Clear regulations and penalties for non-compliance are crucial. Governments must work with law enforcement to ensure adherence. 2. Investment in Waste Management: Efficient waste collection and recycling systems reduce plastic leakage into the environment. Partnerships with NGOs and international organizations can enhance infrastructure. 3. Eco-Friendly Alternatives: Promoting alternatives like biodegradable packaging or reusable products can reduce reliance on plastics. Local businesses can be supported through incentives for sustainable practices. 4. Awareness and Education: Campaigns can shift consumer behavior, encouraging responsible disposal and reducing plastic use. Success Stories and Challenges Countries like Rwanda and Kenya have implemented strict plastic bans, showing positive environmental outcomes. However, challenges persist, such as: - Enforcement: Smuggling and non-compliance undermine bans. - Affordability: Alternatives can be more expensive, affecting low-income households. - Cultural Shifts: Changing ingrained habits requires sustained efforts. Uganda's ban is a step forward, but success depends on: - Government commitment to enforcement - Collaboration with businesses and communities - Support for vulnerable groups in transitioning Let's push for policies that protect ecosystems and communities 🌍. @UNEP @Africa_Engage @WangariM #PlasticBan #Biodiversity #Sustainability #Africa #WasteManagement #EcoFriendly @moreenayebaze #plastic #Stopfossilsubsidies #endfossilfuelsubsidies #United4ClimateJustice @VanForUnity @ahengst @19jokersmoker96 @aacjinaction @akintomiwa18833 @alexatweme @AllisonJEdwards @AndreaTEdwards @AndrewEmor_ @AngelaWalkr @ANMLDFR @annette_kezaabu @Arch_Twik @AyebareDenise @AtomicTruths_7 @BagumaRT @AngelaWalkr @Green_iwg @XRebellionWA @ExtinctionR @ExtinctionR @ExtinctionR @NLRebellion @XR_BSE @XRebellionWA @XRHaringey @ExtinctionB @XRebellionUK @StayGroundedNet

Dear Mr. Kaka, I hope this message reaches you and finds you well! I want you to know that even though things didn’t go as planned for the Mbarara Marathon 2026, brighter days are ahead. The future will bounce back bigger and stronger —this I truly believe. Only those who have organized big events and faced setbacks can truly understand the weight you’re carrying right now. 😔😢 It’s not easy, but please stay strong. Hold on and keep believing. Sometimes what looks like failure today is actually a blessing in disguise that will fuel an even greater comeback tomorrow. Turn the negativity and disappointment into positive fuel—keeping pushing! No giving up no matter what ! 💪🏾 All will be well, sir . My prayers are with you. 🤞🏾 #MbararaCityMarathon26

Uganda’s lodge and hotel landscape holds secrets that many of us have yet to fully discover. Take Bulago Island, for example. Just a short boat ride from the mainland, it feels like an entirely different world. On this single island, you have places like One Minute South and Ihunde, each offering a distinct experience that redefines local travel. It is more than just a getaway. It is a place where the forest breathes, the water stays still at three meters deep, and horses and camels roam freely through the landscape. We often look so far for beauty, but sometimes, all the distance you need to find yourself again is just one minute south of the noise. #VisitUganda #BulagoIsland #Tulambule #UgandaTourism #VisualStorytelling
