@mmarginet @NHLJets @DowntownWpgBIZ I cannot believe the ignorance in some of the replies. A @BikeWinnipeg valet during the playoffs is truly a fantastic idea. Think of how many cars would be taken off of streets downtown, making it better for everyone.

@DavidColetto @abacusdataca On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being low and 5 being high, how likely is it that oil/gasoline companies raised the price of gasoline at the pumps in Manitoba after the provincial government instituted the gas tax holiday?

You be the pollster. If you could ask any question on a national survey of Canadians, what would you ask? Best question will make it on @abacusdataca's national survey this week. #cdnpoli #mrx

Strong government policy to address cost of living, provides the largest benefits to those in greatest need. Eliminating the provincial gas tax provides the largest benefits to those who drive the most, and own the biggest vehicles.
Brent Bellamy@brent_bellamy

Manitoba’s proposed six month hiatus on the provincial gas tax will cost the government the same amount of money as offering free public transit in Winnipeg, Brandon, Thompson, Selkirk and Flin Flon, for almost two years. winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/2…

Why do people say, “I have to take a piss” or “…take a shit” when you’re literally giving it to the sewer?

@nowwithnik @brent_bellamy Any any rate…In the end, I don’t think the lack of a few parking spaces was the downfall of 441 Main.

@Manalogue @brent_bellamy They were going at night, of course. I never said they weren’t. Staff should definitely drive to work. Patrons typically have a DD, and that DD needs to park.

Provencher Boulevard is such a lost opportunity. Instead of being a vibrant neighbourhood high street, it’s a funnel for cars and trucks. The BIZ opposes bike lanes to ‘maintain the character of the boulevard’. Shouldn’t the goal be to improve its character as a place for people?

The Provencher Blvd Biz claims on their website that bike racks make it a "more attractive physical environment and a more successful business area." But their Board of Directors doesn't want cyclists on Provencher?! Which is it? 🤔🤔🤔

@nowwithnik @brent_bellamy Couldn’t finish my thought…had to get back to work. I worked at clubs in England and they all paid for cabs to get home. That’s something clubs could consider here for their employees.

@nowwithnik @brent_bellamy Losing close parking for employees is unfortunate but maybe they don’t need to drive there? I worked in a club in the UK and the owners paid for cabs if needed.

@nowwithnik @brent_bellamy Patrons going to 441 Main weren’t going there in the middle of the day. It was a night club. They were heading to the club when many shouldn’t have been driving to begin with.

This was me fresh out of school 16 years ago. It was a dream job but on a day-to-day contract. I worked hard hoping to land something permanent, then one day, the contract ended.

Temporary employees have made up a large part of @CBCRadioCanada's workforce for decades. They're compensated the same as any other employee—with one notable exception. Most are always looking over the edge into unemployment, with no guarantee of ever securing a permanent job.
