Kid worked his ass off all offseason and the results are continuing to come.
Does remote with us 2x a week and drives over an hour for his in person session once a week.
Invested in himself and bought a VBT unit and some bands.
Went from being 88-90 T92 to sitting 90-94 T95 and it’s only February.
Crazy off season. Numbers don’t lie.

Adding to the post because Jacob had a diabolical lift today. Hit 32.3 with 30s (31.8 shown) PR Up 6.3 inches on standing jump (37.6) PR 225 + 120 in bands at .7 Force plate numbers though the roof I smell a 96mph fastball this spring.

If you want to throw gas you need to build the engine! Here is force plate data from the hardest throwers that have trained at the Lab. While throwing elite level speeds is more complex than just total body force output, this gives a great picture of powerful all of these guys are and how powerful you need to be to throw exceptionally hard. If you are tired of training hard every offseason and not seeing transfer onto the field it is time to take a more intelligent approach towards training. We DEVELOP better than any S&C facility in the state!

Why is vertical jump testing one of the most important test when assessing an athlete? Purely because it is the sole test that has the shortest time window to express the most amount of force. Now compare that to sports... Swinging a bat, throwing a ball, beating a guy off the line, swinging a golf club, etc. How fast can I go from 0-100? When you look at our leader board of top 8 athletes in the categories - Jump Height and Peak Propulsive Power - you will find common similarities among all of them. They grade out exceptionally high in sprint speed, exit velo, or throwing velo. The goal of the weight room is to get every athlete to hit these elite metrics so they can *build the engine* as big as possible. It is then up to their skill coaches to help them learn how to apply forces at the right time, increase sequencing efficiency, or clean up movement patterns in their sport. Everyone on this list either throws 92 to 96mph off the mound, runs a sub 6.5 60yd dash, or EV's 105+. There is also no one at our gym *tested so far* that can hit any of these metrics that is not in our top 8. These metrics matter. Build the engine. Make the bar bend. Greatness was accomplished. We took a squad that paid their own way. Lived in 3 hotels and 1 airbnb. Played multiple games that ended at 12am. Finished 2nd among some of the top talent in the entire country. Week well spent and our guys pockets are full. Legendary team.

Most definitely the most disgusting squad the Kraken has ever assembled. We are looking for 2 more arms (93+) and a proven D1 outfielder. Our roster has guys from multiple P4 schools and the top jucos in the country. If you want to be part of greatness this is the squad.

Thank you @PWRLabTX for the best off season of my life I’ve seen the most improvement I ever have in an off season before and I’m definitely counting down the days till winter break so I can train here again, only the best people train here and that is a fact.
