I'm not a car person. I have a car that I use for nothing more than to get from one place to another. But, I do have a nice car. It's not for flash or status. It's just a good tradeoff between cost and comfort.

@SevenLacroix Not really. I'm mostly having to test everything out end to end. Making sure the UI works, the server does its thing, and then the expected thing happens on the UI again.

Building a feature packed platform is freaking hard as a solo. Testing in particular, there is so much.

@MangTheChee I like Arch, but the desktop environment will differ between people. I’ve used Mutter, Budgie, GNOME, and KDE. Budgie is quite nice.

If he's like me, he found what works, got accustomed to using it, and has simply stuck with it. I don't bother learning about other distros. I doubt he does, too.
