Kenyans:
Let's be ambitious.
Take a look at a public high school in Texas, US.
This school costs me $0 annually - to send my son there.
$0.
It is funded through the tax I pay on my income.
The government uses around 18.0% of budget on salaries for those in government.
Including all benefits.
Our counties use on average 47% of budget on salaries.
My own county of Kiambu has averaged 51% spend on salaries since devolution.
We have become a country that exists to serve the tiny fraction of us who are in and around government.
In the last three years alone - county governments have stolen KSH 131 billion through illegal salaries.
That is the difference between a decent school - and the I attended which you can see in the last picture.
@Fabian89734@ouma_neko He is the president all back stops with him.
He is busy attending weddings and ruracio and silly events instead of working for Kenyans.
Accept are incompetent to the core
They run everything down
The sound of those police vehicles passing through Gilgil Town tonight is not normal.
It is the sound of dreams being carried away in silence. Tiny bodies that left home with school bags, laughter and promises are now being taken to a mortuary instead of back to their parents’ arms.
Some mothers are still waiting for a miracle that will never come. Some fathers are standing by the roadside unable to cry anymore because the pain has gone beyond tears. Families that spoke to their daughters yesterday are tonight staring at darkness they may never recover from.
Those were not just students. They were children. Someone’s only daughter. Someone’s prayer. Someone’s future doctor, lawyer, teacher, journalist, pilot.
Gilgil is mourning. Kenya is bleeding.
And the most painful part is knowing those girls were alive, laughing, studying and planning their future only hours before fire turned their dormitory into a graveyard.
May the little souls rest in peace.
May the surviving students heal.
May the parents find strength no human being should ever need.

@Authentic_Wayne@GeorgeNatembeya Don't be stupid/ is assemblies priority?
Post the hospitals he has built not hospital.
They're just Normal buildings without medication
@MangeraJames1@GeorgeNatembeya Have you actually seen the hospital Natembeya launched, or is it just another round of yapping, the standard script in 2026?
I am delighted to announce the successful completion of the new Trans Nzoia County Assembly building, a landmark project that commenced in April 2023 and was undertaken under my leadership through the Department of Public Service Management (PSM).
This state-of-the-art facility represents a major milestone in strengthening our governance and institutional capacity as a county. While the construction phase has now been finalized, the next step will involve equipping the building to ensure a dignified, efficient, and conducive working environment for our County Assembly members as they execute their legislative, representation, and oversight responsibilities effectively.
The completion of this project underscores our administration’s unwavering commitment to prudent resource management, institutional development, and service delivery to the people of Trans Nzoia.
Together, we shall continue building a stronger, more progressive, and prosperous Trans Nzoia County for present and future generations.
@okoth273031@MoraraKebaso Kenya is budget 47% goes to debts. We get foreign aid daily but it's eaten by politicians same as debts. Leaving nothing for development.
Rwanda is receiving foreign but used effectively no corruption no politicians are greedy.
Accept Kenya is a shit country no order
@MangeraJames1@MoraraKebaso While Rwanda boasts impressive infrastructure and order, its economy remains heavily reliant on foreign aid. Kenya's democratic space, despite massive corruption challenges, drives a dynamic, self-sustaining private sector.RWANDA IS A SMALL ECONOMY DON'T COMPARE WITH KENYA
We have to get to a point and accept that democracy cannot work for us. Allowing poor people who lack information to vote in a system where politicians are rich and informed is a disaster. We need to find an alternative to democracy. Voting will not solve our problem.
Poverty can only be eradicated by government initiative and that government is voted for by poor voters who lack information. The government on the other hand struggles to keep people poor and without information so that they can be governed and stolen easily.
Breaking away from this cycle will require thinking outside our democratic systems and processes.
@susankihika Thank you my Governor, for standing with us during this devastating time. Your presence at Utumishi Girls Academy, alongside CS Murkomen and CS Migos, means more than words can express to the grieving families and our county. May the departed souls rest in eternal peace
Together with Interior Cabinet Secretary Hon Kipchumba Murkomen and Education Cabinet Secretary Hon Julius Migos, I visited Utumishi Girls Academy following the tragic dormitory fire that has plunged our county and the nation into deep sorrow.
It is devastating that such young and promising lives were lost in this heartbreaking incident. On behalf of the people of Nakuru County, I once again extend my heartfelt condolences to the parents, guardians, teachers, and students affected by this tragedy. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved families as they navigate this painful period of grief and loss.
The County Government of Nakuru is closely coordinating with the National Government to ensure all affected families receive the support they need, including counselling services for students, parents, and members of staff as they come to terms with the trauma. We also continue to pray for the speedy recovery of those still receiving treatment in hospital.
I commend the swift response by emergency personnel, security agencies, and healthcare workers, including Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat and DCI Director Mohamed Amin, as efforts continue to account for every student and support the affected families.
As investigations begin, we urge the public to remain patient and allow the Directorate of Criminal Investigations adequate time to thoroughly establish the cause of the fire and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
May God grant strength, comfort, and peace to all the affected families, and may the souls of the departed children rest in eternal peace.
Present also were Education PS Julius Bitok, area MP Martha Wangari, Deputy I G Eliud Lagat and DCI Director Mohamed Amin.
Oluga better be certain about this.
He is about to be paraded in the headlines by MoH as the official face of Ebola, just like Mercy Mwangangi during COVID.
Funny thing is that this falls squarely on @psmuthoni, PS Public Health who has been awfully silent as this unfolds.
@NPSOfficial_KE Kenya is a funny country juu instead of dispatching doctors rescue services early.
You wait in the morning to send the police boss to just sit and stand

@hilary_kartel@abcofficial4@citizentvkenya Are the kdf responsible for putting out fires?
Where was the nakuru county fire fighters?
Kdf is not something you wake up to bcoz they are near you for support,
Blame the poor systems in our country and the school for lacking adequate safety measures
@MangeraJames1@abcofficial4@citizentvkenya Kdf doesn't put out fires? I have witnessed them at Githurai, twice, not once. They arrived first, ahead of the Nairobi and Kiambu county rigs. What are you saying?
@CarolineThee@BravinYuri How is Israel involved here?
Where was the county emergency services?
Another reason why women should be barred from leadership.
