@Clint_Davey1 Nijmegen bridge could have been secured within hours of the initial landing. Yet because of Gavin's obession with the Groesbeek Heights the 82nd Airborne failed to capture the bridge. But, yeah, blame Monty.

"Monty? He's overrated." From Saving Private Ryan. "You're going to be under British command" (men groan in annoyance). From Band of Brothers. Americans having these little jabs at the British in WW2 movies is amusing.

The Pacific is vast. Your options are not. In Race to Rabaul, every step forward stretches something thin, supply lines, patience, time. The Allies are pushing across islands and jungle. Japan is pulling back, resisting, trying to make every advance cost more than it’s worth. Every operation demands fuel, supplies, and coordination. Every offensive looks good on the map, until the cost catches up with you. Plans rarely fail all at once. Do you push one more island, knowing your supply lines are already strained? Or do you pause, giving your opponent time to reorganize and prepare? Both sides are racing, but in different ways. The Allies must keep momentum, before their logistics collapse under their own weight. Japan must delay, disrupt, and force the enemy to spend more than they can afford. Cards shape the fog of war. You never know exactly how strong your opponent is or how much they’re willing to risk. Commit too much, and you may have nothing left for what comes next. Hold back, and the opportunity may never return. Follow the campaign here: gamefound.com/en/projects/ph…

Some more play-testing of my game Messiah. This is an asymmetric strategy game set in 1st century Roman-occupied Judea with 4 factions: Christians, Zealots, Pharisees and Romans. Each faction begins in a totally different position. The Christians start with Jesus and a small number of Followers in Galilee. They have to build up faith and spread their Followers across the map. The Pharisees have no pieces on the map - their entire engine is based on their cards including Tithes, Temple Sacrifices, Torah Study and others. The Zealots are an underground military insurgency with their forces scattered across the region, slowly sniping at the Romans and building up for an uprising. The Romans have garrisons of soldiers everywhere and are trying to keep the peace. They move slow but are very powerful, and can crush the clusters of Zealot or Christian Followers if they choose to. The fundamentals of the game are solid, right now we are just tweaking the balance between the 4 factions.

In our logistics focused game Race to the Rhine, players are Allied generals pursuing the Germans across France. The Germans are a "bot". In Race to Rabaul, 2 to 4 players will compete. 1 or 2 will be Japanese and 1 or 2 will be American. Both sides will be pushing back and forth, their operational tempo determined by the moving and spending of supplies. This is an intense and dramatic game of Pacific Theatre logistics. From renowned designer Volko Ruhnke, it is sure to be a winner. Follow the campaign here: gamefound.com/en/projects/ph…

Wally Wallington claims he demonstrated how a single person can manipulate massive monoliths, or how they could have been moved in ancient times. He claims that a pyramid could be completed using primitive tools in 25-year with only 520 workers.
