🌉 WEST BENGAL SHOULD BUILD A WORLD-CLASS GANGA RIVERFRONT FOR BENGALIS, THE GANGA IS NOT JUST A RIVER IT IS EMOTION, MEMORY & EVERYDAY LIFE Even today, thousands spend their evenings near the ghats: ☕ having tea & adda 🌬️ enjoying the river breeze ⛴️ watching ferries pass 🌆 sitting peacefully after work 🙏 experiencing the timeless atmosphere of Kolkata & Howrah Interestingly, riverfront improvement work is already happening gradually across several stretches. But Bengal should probably think MUCH bigger. Imagine: • restored heritage ghats • cleaner pedestrian zones • cafés & cultural spaces • ferry-integrated transport hubs • cycling tracks • night lighting & tourism • organised food zones • public seating & green spaces The Ganga riverfront has the potential to become one of Bengal’s biggest urban transformation projects.

Honoured and privileged to have met our respected Prime Minister; Shri @narendramodi Ji, in New Delhi today. This marks my first Official Meeting with Hon'ble PM since assuming the responsibility of serving the People of West Bengal as the Chief Minister. I extend my deepest gratitude to Hon’ble PM for his warm wishes and above all, for his unwavering commitment to the progress of our State. During our fruitful discussion, Hon'ble Prime Minister reemphasized his vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and reiterated that the development of West Bengal remains a top priority for the Central Government. I am incredibly thankful to him for assuring all possible help, guidance, and Central Support to rescue West Bengal from years of stagnation and place it firmly on the fast track of economic growth, industrial revival and youth empowerment. With the blessings of the Centre and the trust of the People, we are ready to usher in a new era of double-engine growth, transparent governance, and holistic development for West Bengal. This evening, I will inaugurate a new flyover in Guwahati named after Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Some will ask why a flyover in Guwahati is being named after Dr. S.P Mookerjee? The answer is a story that very few people know but one which everyone in Assam should know 🧵

@BengalLens_ Sealdah to Sunderban route and Sealdah to Namakhana route must to be developed as RRTS. It may be very popular and less time consuming to reach Sundarban and bakkhali. Bakkhali need to develop in line of Digha.

Envisioning the Future: RRTS in West Bengal 》Kolkata – Krishnanagar – Berhampore 》Kolkata – Howrah – Bardhaman – Durgapur – Asansol 》Howrah – Bankura – Purulia 》Howrah – Kolaghat – Kharagpur 》Kolkata – Baruipur – Haldia – Digha 》Baruipur – Sundarban Now that stalled infrastructure projects in West Bengal are finally gaining momentum — from metros to expressways, this might be the right time to think a little bigger about regional public transport as well. Such a network could completely transform mobility, reduce travel time, boost tourism, improve industrial connectivity, and create a stronger economic corridor across Bengal — much like what NCR is witnessing with RRTS today. With infrastructure-focused planning finally taking shape in the state, why not let the government know the potential that a future-ready rapid rail network can bring to Bengal? Do you think these routes are viable? Any corridor you would add, modify, or remove? #WestBengal #Bengal #RRTS #Kolkata

This is Srirampur's story where faith, history, and devotion intertwine.. In 1667, the king of Sheoraphuli had a divine vision of Lord Ram along the Ganges. Raja Rajchandra Ray built the Shri Ramchandra temple in 1752; the region became known as Srirampur.

Deeply touched to receive facsimiles of two handwritten epigrams by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. I thank the Government and people of Sweden for this thoughtful gesture, which reflects the enduring cultural bonds between our nations. Gurudev Tagore’s words continue to illuminate minds across generations and geographies. His vision of human dignity, knowledge and brotherhood remains timeless. @SwedishPM

Had the honour to hand over a facsimile of two handwritten epigrams by the influential Indian author Rabindranath Tagore to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Tagore was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. The poems were located in the Swedish National Archives. The gift is a testament to the long-standing relations between Sweden and India. 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 ₹𝟭𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲. Engineers of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) are preparing presentations for the new Urban Development Minister. The ₹88-crore Ruby Skywalk project was proposed in 2021 and was planned at the same height as the concourse of the Hemanta Mukhopadhyay metro station. Paucity of funds forced the officials to shelve the project. The feasibility study for a parallel bridge beside the two-lane Jibanananda Setu had been planned to ease congestion near Jadavpur in 2019, but it never progressed further. The ₹900-crore flyover was planned to begin at the Metropolitan Crossing on EM Bypass and end at Mahishbathan. The plan was for the four-lane flyover, proposed to be 5.99 km long, and KMDA had floated tenders to select a company for construction. While Larsen and Toubro were the sole bidder, the earlier WBGov regime stated the unavailability of financial resources to take up the project at the time.
