@rgs_sharma @bykarthikreddy Ofcourse they deserve, buy by paying the price. If in Mumbai a person can't spend atleast 1000 rs for a monthly pass, they shouldn't be here. Even villagers pay higher bus fares than the artificially kept low pass rates in Mumbai.

MUMBAI LOCAL UPGRADE : This isn't a sealed pressure cooker like many are quoting. The ventilation has been engineered, precisely because officials knew open-door airflow would be lost. - The train has Louvered/slatted doors and windows, that allows continuous airflow even when closed. - Has Larger windows (1,900 mm vs. ~900 mm in older rakes) with sliding glass panes. - Upgrade has Forced ventilation system: Two roof-mounted high-capacity blowers per coach (each ~10,000 m³/hour → 20,000 m³/hour) that actively push fresh air in. It's built on an AC EMU shell but with "fan mode" on steroids.

If Metros can be AC, why not Suburbans? Why the fancy of Babus to think that only they can travel in AC Cars and have Centrally AC offices Little extra Capex on AC EMUs and running cost is the least citizens expect in hot n humid climate.. So, stop this nonsense of blowers and windows. You can't stand 15 mins in open in humid climate.

Non-AC door closing EMU local train that arrived at Kurla carshed in Mumbai. Here are the key differences: *The coach is built on an AC EMU shell, but maintaining the various classes of first class (with cushion seats), ladies, the disabled one and others. Hence though vestibular, it has physical partitions to segregate these coaches. *The windows are wider 1,900m with sliding glass panels like buses as compared to 900m windows in existing trains. *The blowers are powerful forcing 10,000 cubic m/hr air into the coach, with two such units in every coach which means 20,000 cubic m/hr air in each coach. *The leg space between the two seats has been increased for a comfortable seating and wider gangway. *The luggage compartment at either end of the train is two times larger than the existing ones. *The doors have been shut and along with glass panels on the top, to improve air circulation, these coaches feature louvered doors (slatted) that allow air movement while keeping doors closed for safety.

BJP will have MLAs from Palakkad, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram districts. Very low turnout in Manjeshwar. If BJP has mobilized all its voters, KS may just cross the bridge. I am seeing 50-50 chances in Kasaragod, Thiruvananthapuram, Kattakkada, Thiruvalla and Nattika.

I was digging into MEIL & came away genuinely proud, a bootstrapped company executing across such a wide spectrum of infra job at this scale. As an engineer & an Indian, this was deeply satisfying to discover. (Just a fan post) In 1989, P.P. Reddy started Megha Engineering Enterprises in a tiny fabrication shed in Balanagar, Hyderabad, with just 2 employees. Their 1st contract was not a dam/a highway; it was making tiny pipes for local municipalities. Now look at a few of the diverse works executed by them; 1. At the Polavaram project, MEIL is using Plastic Concrete, a specially engineered flexible mix. To build the massive 1.5 km long Diaphragm Wall (1 of the world’s largest), standard rigid concrete would crack under the earth’s natural shifting & seismic stresses. They developed a mix using bentonite slurry & specialized polymers that gives the concrete high flexibility while maintaining strength. This allows the wall to absorb movement w/o failing. MEIL engineered a hybrid material that behaves like stiff jelly underground: a smart solution to prevent seepage & potential structural failure in 1 of India’s most ambitious irrigation projects. 2. MEIL owns a company called ICOMM Tele Limited. ICOMM is a key partner for the DRDO, manufacturing components for the Agni & Akash missile systems, as well as specialized electronic warfare shelters. They recently partnered with UAE’s CARACAL to manufacture snipers & assault rifles in India. 3. Everyone talks about their dams & highways, few know about MEIL’s growing expertise in advanced trenchless technology. MEIL has successfully executed complex Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) projects, including long under-river pipeline crossings, w/o disturbing the surface ecosystem. 4. The Gayatri Pumphouse (Package 8) is the world’s largest underground pumping station. To build it, MEIL had to excavate a cavern so massive that you could fit 3 football stadiums inside it, 140m underground. The pumps used there (139 MW each) are so powerful that just 1 pump consumes more electricity than many mid-sized Indian cities. These are just a few examples… the sheer scale they operate at is something we almost have to pause & take in.

Today, on April 7, 2026, India’s biggest -diameter single-shield hard-rock TBM, Nayak, was launched for the Thane-Borivali Twin Tunnel. The launch took place in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar, MMRDA Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, MEIL Group Managing Director P.V. Krishna Reddy, Director Ch. Subbaiah, and other dignitaries. This 11.84 km tunnel under Sanjay Gandhi National Park will reduce travel time from 60-90 minutes to just 15 minutes. #NayakTBM #Infrastructure #EngineeringMarvel #TunnelEngineering #ThaneBorivaliTunnel #SanjayGandhiNationalPark #Mumbai #CMDevendraFadnavis #PVKrishnaReddy #TunnelBoringMachine #MEIL #MeghaEngineering #MEILGroup @MMRDAOfficial @Dev_Fadnavis @mieknathshinde

For those who are wondering how did I manage to sleep 5 hours on a single train and why did it take me another two hours to reach my office. Basically I did a 395 km journey across 3 different lines on Mumbai's suburban rail network in a single train, covering more than two thirds of thenetwork in a day just because I was too sleepy. 😂 I started off from Goregaon, the northwestern terminus of Harbour Line for Panvel, the southeastern terminus of Harbour Line on a limited service direct (through train) service but i slept on the train because I was too tired. Meanwhile the train reached Panvel, reversed for CSMT, (the southern terminus of Harbour Line as well as Central Main Line, instead of Goregaon. Here it switched from Harbour Line to Central Line and became a CSMT-Kasara fast (Express/Rapid) service lol. @TonamiPlayman @RM_Transit @JRUrbaneNetwork

I once slept in a panvel bound local train from goregaon so soundly at 7 am in the morning. That by the time I woke up I was in Kasara at noon after doing a round trip all the way via CST. I ended reaching my office in Belapur at 3 pm, with just 2 hours left to work. 😅

@gp30543 @bhaumikgowande @Central_Railway @icfindrlys The time taken for an ac local to come to a halt open the doors, close them and leave is much more than a non ac local. And to top it off, these locals have faced multiple door opening failures which will have a cascading effect on the time table during peak hours.

@rajtoday Makes no sense, LHB coaches made by RCF/ MCF use use b nyl stickers instead of paint for the exterior. That's a bigger hazard.

Spare the windows!!! That’s the trending complaint of many Mumbai AC local commuters. Vinyl ads pasted on train windows are blocking the outside view, with some passengers even missing stations. On Central Railway, complaints also point to poor-quality pasting of the vinyl. Advertising professionals have also raised concerns about possible fire hazards from such materials.

We need prominent signs at all airports (and announcements in flights) about NOT USING MOBILE PHONES IN SPEAKER MODE (for calls, watching videos, etc.) in waiting areas, in planes... basically in any public area. cc @DGCAIndia @MoCA_GoI @mohol_murlidhar @RamMNK Need a public campaign for this ....should be extended for all public transit (railways and bus too).
