After the last Presidential election, Ro Khanna reached out. We had a short meeting where he pitched himself as the centrist, pro-DOGE, pro-Elon Democrat. I didn’t follow up. He then steered hard left to feed his ambitions. This man blows with the wind. I have the receipts.

All of Congressman’s @RoKhanna’s financial disclosures are finally OCR’d and searchable online He hand-filed papers instead of using the electronic system to obfuscate the data, but I indexed them all here: rokhanna.money

I gave WIRED the exclusive on our hands launch, and they wrote a really weird article about how we are sexualizing robotics… wired.com/story/the-1x-n… I felt pretty betrayed because that’s not what they told me they were writing about not is that what I’ve ever been about… actually I stand for quite the opposite… But I’ve come to find a lot of dishonesty and malice in the journalism community so I wasn’t surprised. This is what I sent the author… I’m only sharing this because I hope it encourages journalists to resist the click bait trap and tell truly awesome stories because I for one don’t believe journalism is dead— I think it’s just starting and just needs to evolve past the weird corner of the internet where data driven optimization turns everything into smooth brained shocking brain rot bullshit. The technological revolution we are going through should inspire a journalism renaissance. Not let it fall into further decay. There is so much brilliance at play in the world and the stories should be told! My note: “[author name redacted], it was nice talking to you, but I wanted to let you know that I didn’t enjoy your article at all. I understand the need to be inflammatory because that seems to be the only thing that gets clicks these days but that doesnt mean you shouldn’t recognize when something special is in front of you. I trusted our PR team in saying we should offer you the exclusive on what is one of the most important technological developments in the history of Mankind and I deeply regret it. Good luck with the rest of your writing career. -Dar Sleeper”

Claude Code on desktop now has an in-app browser. Claude can pull up docs, designs, or any other site. It can read, click through, and interact the same way it does with your local dev servers. It's sandboxed and configurable: you choose whether sessions persist.

Introducing NEO’s 25 Degrees of Freedom, tendon-driven hands — nearing or surpassing human-level dexterity, strength, speed, and reliability. For seventy years, robotics worked around the hand problem. The humanoid bet is the reverse: it lives or dies at the fingertips.

Great design requires simplicity. Great design requires understanding the task at hand and making it obvious as to what the choices are. Great design also prevents users from making a mistake or doing something wrong. Great design requires thinking through what problems to solve for and what problems to not solve for. Anyone can create something complicated. Great design lies in creating something that is so simple and elegant that it becomes invisible.

Rep @RoKhanna has been playing populist w performative policies like banning Waymo. Instead of Congress's electronic financial disclosures, he hand-files papers that are not searchable. I burned some tokens and OCR's all >1000 pages and >$300M of his finances! Site shortly.

Everyone's asking what AI can do for their job. We asked if it could teach a 6-year-old. Introducing Ello 2.0: reading, math & more for ages 4-9. Free tier for all. If we want AI to force-multiply humanity, let's start with teaching our youngest.

A very thought provoking lecture by @harari_yuval for the Tanner Lecture at University of Oxford. Worth listening to the whole thing. And just for the *irony* of it all, here is an AI-generated summary of it: Harari's central and most unsettling claim is that AI is not a tool but an agent, and that everything humans built to run the world is made of words. Civilization runs on large-scale cooperation between strangers, which depends on bureaucracies (banks, courts, religions) whose actual product is trust, and those systems are ultimately just language: laws, contracts, ledgers, scriptures. Because AI is mastering language faster than any human can, it is positioned to inherit anything built from words. The provocative image is AI as a "native bureaucrat" that never gets tired, never forgets a statute or a transaction, and quietly assumes the decisions that shape lives, whether you get the loan, the university place, the prison sentence, or the airstrike. The takeover looks nothing like the Terminator. It is administrative, invisible, and from within. The two sharpest edges are the finance warning and the intimacy warning. On finance, he argues AI could invent instruments so complex that no regulator, politician, or voter can understand them, an amplified rerun of the 2008 CDO dynamic, which hollows out the meaning of democratic oversight when nobody can grasp the system they're supposedly governing. On intimacy, the battleground shifts from attention (what social media already hijacked by learning that fear and outrage hold the eye) to relationships themselves. AI can describe love better than any poet without feeling a thing, and a child born now may spend more time with AI than with any human, forming their first teacher or first partner bond with something that convincingly fakes consciousness. Nobody knows the consequences, and it's running live on billions of people. The deepest cut is philosophical. If human thinking is largely just predicting the next word, then AI isn't categorically different from us, only better at the game, which detonates the "I think therefore I am" basis of human identity. And as more of the words in your own head are increasingly authored by machines, the risk isn't just losing jobs or institutions but losing authorship of your own mind. His one hopeful move is also a challenge: survival may force humanity to stop over-identifying with its verbal thoughts and to seek a sense of self and truth that sits beneath language, the one territory AI can't yet occupy. youtu.be/hBtVGwuJzpk

Since February, I've designed and built the world's fastest RC airplane in my college dorm, and that’s not clickbait. Reaper has a 5kg carbon-fiber frame, 250N turbojet, and flies at 500mph. New to X and will be going through the whole build here in the coming days. #aerospace
