Players on all tours have won big over the past 4 years Tours now left with huge overheads ( driven by LIV and then used as leverage against them ) With LIV unlikely to re emerge at current levels a reset in the landscape likely Big Board decisions ahead…. @SkySportsGolf

Who exactly was hurt by LIV? $5b into golf ecosystem from them, $2b from private equity. Ratings higher than ever. Participation higher than ever. Fans have more interest. Players make more money. Eco system has more money. Who got hurt? LIV was the best thing to happen to golf and its going away will be bad. Product was meh, but it was necessary and brought good things to the sport I love.

@Luke_Elvy Ya, I didn't think you could say anything. You know I'm right. Australia can't run a proper tournament with a modern prize pool. Did it to yourself.

@Luke_Elvy Why is it the job of the PGA tour to travel the planet? You can be pissed that the best players come here but that is your countries fault.

And fed other parts of the world the PGAT mostly ignored (for decades). Going global is the best option for the long-term viability of the professional game. Shoot me for being right.

LIV's legacy will be that it dragged the PGA Tour out of the very comfy and cushy Tiger era in which a child could have generated an insane amount of revenue and into an era where the Tour actually needed to be creative, thoughtful and more modern about its product.

Scott O'Neil's comments at LIV Golf Korea media day yesterday (per Maeil Business Newspaper): -expecting more than the 40,000 fans last year -5 sponsors have signed on for the event -"ratings have increased along with profits" (no details) -Operating funding through 2026 season secured "working hard to create an environment where it can grow on its own ... we are trying to grow by attracting investment and expanding profits"

The PGA Tour on Thursday laid off 56 full-time positions, or around 4% of its global staff. In a memo to employees, CEO Brian Rolapp described it as a "difficult - but important" step for the tour in its new for-profit era sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2026/…

How ofter does the CGM get lapped by independent reporters these days?! All the big media companies waste hours speculating what Bryson DeChambeau’s going to do next year, Tom from Flushing It gets it straight from the horses mouth. Why anyone still trusts MSM is beyond me.
Flushing It@flushingitgolf

Bryson DeChambeau has been the face of LIV Golf since joining in 2022. He regularly faces media and has been the most outspoken player in regard to how much he believes in the product. Now with reports that the PIF are cutting funding at the end of the 2026 season, how committed is he? Speaking to Flushing It Golf after LIV Golf Mexico City, Bryson said: “There's a lot of moving parts like in any business. It’s a startup, right? And so there's going to be times where we're squeezed and punched. This is one of those moments. But I'm going to do everything in my power to make it work and I really see the value in franchise golf. “And, you know, another reason why I'm doing this is not just for myself and the team aspect that I really believe in on the Crushers side. It's for Michael LaSasso. It's for Caleb Surratt. It's for Josele Ballester. It's for David Puig. “Jon, Phil, DJ, myself and the guys that have been here from the start, we’re okay. It’s now our responsibility to take care of these kids that believe in us. That’s why I'm really doing it. There's so much value to squeeze out of this whole thing for golf in general.” LIV Golf has been well funded since inception. Spending enormous amounts of money to sign players to upfront contracts, hosting lavish parties, having massive build outs and offering the largest event to event purses in the sport. But now the blank cheques are coming to an end, things clearly need to change. After reaching out directly to officials familiar with this aspect of the league, they insist they are focused on securing more income and funding, rather than cuts, and appear bullish with how that is trending. League sources say they’ve doubled revenue in 2025 from the previous year and have added more than $100 million already in the 2026 season through the first 5 events. 10 franchises will be profitable, as well as 4 events, and their ticket sales are up over 130% year over year. CEO Scott O’Neil said on last week’s broadcast, “we have never been in a better position.” If outside investment comes in, particularly to the franchises, as a byproduct it will help address the obvious issue of having one owner for all of the teams. The competitive aspect of the league has been flawed since the start, with more focus on building brands than the actual performances on the golf course. Results will suddenly matter more than they ever have. “I think that’s the best part of it,” Bryson said. “In my opinion, it’s not just some gimmick, it’s like, okay, we’re here to be competitive.” No matter how much the revenue increases, a sports league is not sustainable without star players. Bryson DeChambeau is the definition of that. With his current contract up at the end of this year, how are his negotiations going for a renewal? “We're still working on a potential contract. I haven’t given up on that and I think there will be a solution. But as of right now, my job is to help make the league work after this year. I just feel like I have a responsibility. I've put a lot of effort into it. So that’s what I’m going to do, we’re going to make this work.” When asked what happens if they can’t make it work, he doubled down: “As long as LIV is here, I would figure out a way for it to make sense.” There’s been much speculation about Bryson DeChambeau’s future over the last few months, and now you have it from the man himself. Pay attention to those who widely shared “reports” of Bryson looking for options outside of LIV Golf but don’t aggregate these quotes. They are not trustworthy news sources. @brysondech @Crushers_GC @livgolf_league

@MarcAsmussen You are probably reacting to score/SG-based rankings versus points rankings. SG values all tournaments equally (after adjusting for field quality). Rahm is 11th in our points rankings.

Are Legion XIII and Chapultepec a perfect match? A team win in 2025 and a 19 stroke lead through 36 holes in 2026 would make it seem so!

@hennisdad60512 @RowdyRodsters @MyGolfSpy Everyone says this but this isn't true. Data sources say LIV was nominally more shots per hour. On the last day, I would rather see fewer shots but from the leaders. LIV would cut away and show a guy 12 strokes back. Crap content.

@RowdyRodsters @MyGolfSpy Nothing sucks like constant action. I mean edited hero shots are so much better. Loves it when Max and Rory both said the dumbest thing a golfer can do is watch hero shots on golf channel and think it’s reality. There’s a reason the guy on Friday isn’t heard from again

My take on Scott O's recent interview about the future of LIV He's leaving out important info that he's guarding about the future funding of LIV The PIF seem to be bailing out on LIV and I don't blame them, 2 much $ lost LIV was a risk and it may never see profits No deal 4 Brys

@Rodman743 @MarcAsmussen @golffan123456 @grok They only way the deal could work is for PIF to put up the majority of the money they’ve got the majority of the skin in the deal they will have more of a voting leverage than you think they will bet on that!

You do realize PIF just closed a deal on the buyout of Paramount+ which includes CBS, the Golf Channel, CBS Sports, etc. which means Yasir will be signing the checks for the PGAT media contracts…or not signing them should he choose not to keep the PGAT broadcasting contract…LIV is fully funded until 2032 that will not change just because they only stated until the end of the year doesn’t mean their isn’t something bigger at play here!
