This is pretty pathetic: France literally ruined its diplomatic relations with Algeria to get this guy 👇 (Boualem Sansal) out of prison there, Macron personally welcomed him in France 5 months ago (rmc.bfmtv.com/actualites/pol…) and now he says he's "had it" with France, calls it a "worse than the Algerian dictatorship" and he's leaving for Belgium. Which should have been expected: the guy - very aligned with Israel and the French far-right - was put in prison in Algeria for "undermining national unity" after he went on the French far-right outlet Frontières to claim parts of western Algeria actually belonged to Morocco. France then made him a cause célèbre with a national government-backed campaign to free him in the name of "free speech," and even handed him the Légion d'honneur on January 1st and a seat at the prestigious Académie française weeks later - because somehow endorsing a foreign country's claims on Algerian territory apparently counts as a defense of French values 🤷‍♂️ And, ironically, after betraying his own country Algeria, he's now - just a couple of months later - turning around and trashing the country that bent over backwards for him. France bought a traitor and is shocked it got one...

This is all well and true but just because one is anti-Hamas etc. does not mean one necessarily is, or has to be, pro-Israel. That is a logical fallacy. Anyone seeing the war crimes committed on the daily, the genocidal or otherwise inhuman rhetoric of Israeli government ministers etc., will also see that being pro-Israel is now incompatible with being pro-Palestinian, pro-Lebanon, pro-Iranian people, etc… Just yesterday they murdered another journalist, who died an agonizing death after Israeli drones and double-taps prevented ambulances from reaching her. “But Hezbollah…” I’m just so sick and tired of the illogic deployed by pro-Israelis on this point. The IDF are not saints, nor saviors, and are not murdering civilians because they “care” about the oppressed Iranians, Lebanese etc…
