It was a huge privilege to visit the iconic Dublin Air Traffic Control tower today as a member of Shannon Airport's Board. While I'm always going to advocate for the economic importance of regional airports like Shannon, it's also amazing to appreciate the ambition and excellence of Ireland's primary international gateway, and the nationwide impact of Ireland's world-leading aviation industry. The building itself (beautifully designed by Scott Tallon Walker, constructed by BAM and officially opened in 2022) also happens to be the tallest occupied structure in Ireland. It provides spectacular 360 views to the talented team of air traffic controllers keeping all our passengers safe, no matter what hour or weather. This must be the office with the best views in Ireland! Sincere thanks to @DublinAirport and @AirNav_Ireland for their hospitality and generous welcome.

Every year, I take part in a volunteer led festival of creativity and innovation in a tiny village, on the edge of a lake, spanned by a 13th century bridge, in the midwest of the tiny island of Ireland, on the very edge of Europe. Big Ideas in small spaces. Connection, inspiration, art, sustainability, design thinking. Hugs. Many many hugs. What matters most in this very short life? Shared values, family and most importantly, people who show up for you, and help you when times are hard. Kindreds that seek and provide inspiration and motivation in tough times. After this gig, I legged it to the hospital where my octogenarian dad was recovering. Despite the fact he didnt want me to know, because he didn't want me to worry. Dads eh? He's a 'show must go on' kind of guy. But he also reminded me that life is damn short and you should celebrate the good bits. This was a very good bit. Something to make him proud. ❤️
