“During any 12-month period when both stocks and bonds had negative real returns, commodities or gold delivered a positive performance” [Goldman Sachs, Lina Thomas]. Commodities add to portfolio diversification, against the risks of slower growth and higher inflation.

@siimland I see that the majority of people supplementing do it blindly, often without even knowing their biomarkers. Such an approach is just gambling with health. And such game has a negative expected outcome. As in case you presented with a sleep problem as a result.

If you're experiencing sleep issues while taking NAD+ boosters, they could be the culprit. NAD+ plays a central role in regulating circadian rhythms and promoting wakefulness. Potential suspects: NMN, NR, niacinamide, niacin A client of mine confirmed it - they had been taking niacin for a long time, and had problems staying asleep. After pausing supplementation, their sleep quality improved — and interestingly, their NAD+ levels were well above average.

The big one for me was realizing that humans and the human brain are amazing, but very prone to having our thinking controlled by where we place our attention and the inputs we get there. A recent guest on the podcast (not out yet) basically explained thinking as a progressive layering of different sensory modalities on a seed event. Once you realize that your thinking is more under your control than you thought and that you have to be careful to not let those cascades take you down unhealthy and unproductive paths, all the business of discipline and careful contemplation becomes much easier. If this seems vague, I should probably just do a podcast about it but there’s real science to back it up. I wish it for everybody because it gives you a real sense of internal calm. You can really start to formulate your thoughts and actions in the best possible way. Life gets so much easier.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I feel better at 50 than at 21 & I felt great then. I’m not special. Every 24hrs strive for: solid sleep, am sunlight, exercise, (mostly) clean eating, great people, hard work & prayer. I don’t claim wisdom but I put a few recent lessons below.

@LongevityWorldC There are a number of factors to be met for longevity. Messaging should reflect that. For example if someone is fed primarily on ultra processed food, then no supplement will help. I see that people build stacks of supplements, before fixing the fundamentals. That's a mistake

@LongevityWorldC In my view you send a completely wrong message with the picture that longevity is about pills.

Celebration time 🎊 Today's #RHR is 36, with #HRV 111 (measured by #whoop). With 95% #recovery there is more room to go. Strain of 16 now. Not done yet

🔋#RHR 37 (avg 41) and #HRV 98 (avg 76) today! Likely due to yesterday's optimal 12.6 Strain aligned with #recovery, pre-#sleep routine: warm shower, 30 min book #reading, 8 min of #breathing (5 min 10s/20s, 3 min 20s/40s) plus tens of other routine actions performed daily.

Hey #longevity crew! Just wrapped a stellar week - avg Resting Heart Rate @ 40 bpm. If you chase extra healthy decades, #RHR is one of metrics to monitor. Why? Lower RHR = efficient heart pumping more blood per beat, cutting risks for heart disease, atherosclerosis & mortality

"The real secret [to longevity] isn’t in any single nutrient or food — in fact, it’s no secret at all. It’s making tried-and-true choices for our health across the board, day after day, and seeing the accumulated effort gradually translate to a healthier life." x.com/PeterAttiaMD/s…

People challenge my “World’s Best Biomarkers" Great Challenge me If I am simultaneously elite in 70+ biomarkers, what is the probability that someone is better? I’m aware not everyone has access to testing. So how can I make this claim? We've worked harder than anyone in the world. Continuous deep scientific research. Constant measurement and daily improvements. I train 6 hours a day and live it 24 hours a day. Meticulous attention to air, water, and toxins. And nutrition, exercise, therapies and sleep. Openly sharing key findings and protocols with you. Someday these things will be more accessible. Here are my latest receipts. Highlights: + teens/early 20s vascular system + elite athlete fitness + top 1% body composition muscle, bone and fat + #1 for lowest speed of aging + teens/early 20s sleep architecture

@bryan_johnson I am curious what was your activity from around 7pm to 8 pm with flat stress of around 0.4. is it some meditation and do you do it regularly? Also does it impact your sleep need as at average of 7h21 it implies regular short nap or activity that is equivalent to nap. Thanks.
