@atrupar This man on air = pure gold for Democrats to use in ads. You start with the 'IDGAF about American families' financial strains' comment from the president and then you 'prove' that point by rolling out clip after clip after clip of Hassett smiling about your pain...

BREAM: The Journal says the percentage of delinquent credit card balances is 13%, the highest since the period following the financial crisis. People say they're using them for necessities. Your message to them?
HASSETT: We talk to the CEOs of the credit card companies all the time. Delinquency is different from default, and there's not any financial threat to the credit card companies. It's just people are taking a little bit longer.

@MillerBadger Agree. I am also glad I don't have to hear commentators call that greatness. So many media outlets have shown how shallow and hollow they are in the past 18 months, in sports media and in general news media

CBS NEWS: Trump reportedly visited Walter Reed but did NOT meet with six soldiers wounded in the deadliest Iran attack of the conflict.
And that is the part causing backlash.
The White House says the president met with other troops during the visit.
But according to CBS, the six service members injured in the Port Achebe attack were there receiving treatment…
and Trump chose not to visit them.
Critics are asking a simple question:
How do you launch the operation, praise the mission, hold the photo-ops…
but not make time for the soldiers wounded in the deadliest attack connected to it?

Katie Phang: Hello, mainstream media, legacy media. You gotta be asking James Comer why he's allowing the transcribed interview and not allowing the sworn deposition videotaped testimony of former AG Pamela Jo Bondi.
The person who said, "I've got the Epstein files on my desk." The person who issued that July 7, 2025 memo alongside FBI's Kash Patel saying, "I've looked at everything, there's nothing left to give over, there's no one left to investigate, there's nothing to be done."
And yet, subsequent to that, we get three million plus pages and documents with another three million that Todd Blanche is still sitting his ass on?
Stop. We're not fucking stupid.

This is how political coalitions collapse.
A lifelong Texas conservative just looked straight into the camera and basically said:
“I’d rather hand Democrats the Senate than let these corporations turn my community into a giant AI server farm.”
That is a MASSIVE warning sign for Republicans.
This is the Republican base revolting against Trump-backed Ken Paxton over data centers swallowing land, water, power grids, and entire towns.
And once rural conservatives start breaking rank over corporate overreach, property destruction, and quality-of-life issues…
the map changes FAST.
Republicans have held that Senate seat since 1993.
Now you have conservatives openly saying:
“Red or blue, if you stop the data centers, you get our vote.”
That is how realignment starts.

Samuel Alito’s son has worked as a lawyer inside Trump’s Treasury Department since early last year. The administration hid it.
No public resume, no LinkedIn, no mention on the Treasury website, outdated bar listings. Four former officials confirmed it.
The public was never told.
Here is why that matters.
Philip Alito served as an attorney-adviser in Treasury’s general counsel office, briefed on department matters across the board, while the Supreme Court took up a case in which the Treasury Department was a named defendant.
The department never disclosed the connection in court.
Justice Alito did not recuse.
The federal recusal law is plain. A justice must step aside in any case where his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.
That is the test.
Not whether anyone can prove influence but whether a reasonable person looking at this would doubt it. A justice ruling on cases involving the very agency that employs his son fails that test on its face.
And Treasury sits at the center of many upcoming issues, including the fight over Trump’s $1.776 billion dollar fund to reward the January 6th rioters he pardoned. That fight could be headed to the Court too.
This is exactly why the honor system has failed.
The Supreme Court is the only court in America with no enforceable code of conduct. I support withholding funding from the Court until the justices adopt a binding code with real recusal review.
Congress holds the power of the purse.
We should use it.

Donald Trump’s DOJ got caught DELETING a press release about a cop-beater who is accused of buying a child for sex.
Are you angry yet?

Meryl Kornfield@MerylKornfield
The Trump admin is quietly deleting info about the Capitol attack from the DOJ website as it prepares to give funds to J6ers. This week, DOJ deleted a press release about one man with an ongoing child solicitation case who came to the Capitol with bear spray. Before and after:

Reporter: Ken Paxton has taken to calling you ‘Talafreako’
@JamesTalarico: If Ken Paxton is worried about freaks, he should stop giving Epstein-style sweetheart deals to pedophiles. This is the guy who just released Adam Hoffman from jail, an admitted child rapist, after one of Ken Paxton’s wealthy lawyer friends got involved in the case.
Ken Paxton even kept him off the sex offender registry. Adam Hoffman was supposed to serve 25 years to life, but instead he served less than a month. As of this week, he’s now back on our streets because of Ken Paxton’s corruption.
Ken Paxton is the most corrupt politician in America, and it is costing Texans, it’s endangering our children, and it must end. The Epstein class has no place in Texas.

I used to say that MAGA would twist themselves into pretzels to defend Trump.
I was wrong. They aren't twisting themselves into pretzels. Defending Trump is easy for them. No contortions needed.
MAGA man is asking why child rape is wrong. Listen to him.
I can't find words either. #DemsUnited

how stupid does he think everyone else in the world is?

Blanche: My job is to do the right thing. It's to do the right thing, no matter who is on the other side. And the fact that it was President Trump and his sons and his company played no role in my decision except to do the right thing.

Generation after generation, men and women put on the uniform knowing the risk — and went anyway knowing they might not come home. Knowing their families would carry that for the rest of their lives.
To the families still carrying that weight — I see you. The pain doesn’t go away, but neither does the pride.
Freedom has never been guaranteed. It has to be earned, defended, and sometimes paid for in the hardest way imaginable. Today on Memorial Day, we stop, we slow down, and we remember those who did.
We honor them.
We thank them.
And we work hard to live up to what they died for. Keep the democracy they believed in worth believing in. That is the ultimate tribute for their sacrifice.

Trump is now reportedly responsible for roughly 27.7% of the entire U.S. national debt accumulated under all presidents combined.
That is an astonishing figure historically.
The national debt just crossed $39 trillion.
President Trump has added roughly $12–13 trillion to the debt across his two terms in office.
That’s approximately 30% of ALL U.S. national debt accumulated since 1789.
In 2016, Trump said he would pay down the national debt “over a period of eight years.”
Instead:
- First term: +$7.8 trillion
- Second term: roughly +$4–5 trillion already
And yes, COVID affected first-term spending.
It does not explain adding another trillion dollars every five months without a pandemic.
A political movement built on:
“fiscal conservatism”
“small government”
“balanced budgets”
has now overseen the largest debt expansion tied to any single presidency in American history.

Jay Williams says he can’t root for the Thunder because of all the foul baiting:
“As a fan of the game, I just want to see the game respected. There are times where I watch OKC play, I don’t feel like they respect the process of the game. It’s too much foul baiting. When you fall down 95% of every shot you take in the 4th, I get physiologically exhausted”

This New York Times piece is worth your time. Here’s what is happening, as simply as I can put it.
Back in January, Trump sued the IRS, an agency he controls, demanding $10 billion over the leak of his tax returns a number of years ago.
IRS lawyers did their jobs. They wrote a memo laying out the defenses that could beat the suit, including the fact that Trump filed too late. His own lawyer was in court when the leaker pleaded guilty in October 2023, more than two years before Trump sued.
The Justice Department never showed up to court. Never argued back. Never used the defenses sitting on their desk.
The judge got suspicious and ordered both sides to explain whether they were actually opposing each other or just colluding. The day before that brief was due, Trump dropped the suit.
Same day, his Justice Department announced a $1.776 billion taxpayer-funded “anti-weaponization fund.”
Trump gets a formal apology. The IRS agrees to drop any audits of him and his family, even though a 2024 Times report found a loss in an ongoing audit could cost him over $100 million.
The acting Attorney General, Trump’s former criminal defense attorney, picks the five commissioners who decide who gets paid. Trump can fire any of them. Proud Boys and Oath Keepers are not ruled out.
This is the most corrupt thing I’ve ever seen from an American president.
Where in the hell are my Republican colleagues?
