@ToonPolls The ones I would be gutted about losing would be Bruno, Hall, Miley in that order. I still think there is a player in Woltemade, hopefully he gets an end of season run. Given how many players we need replacing in an ideal world we would keep Thiaw, Tino and Gordon as well

@LukeEdwardsTele Nothing will change your mind? What if we only win 1/2 games. This is the most negative I've felt towards Howe so far, I'm grateful for everything he's achieved in that time, recent games have been very worrying. He just doesn't seem to have the answer. Hope I'm wrong.

Eddie Howe remains the best manager for Newcastle United and deserves the chance to rebuild the squad in the summer with a proper support structure in place. If he leaves in the summer, I believe the club will regret it. Probably swiftly and for a long time. This is my opinion. I have covered the club for 23 years. I watch them pretty much every week and nothing that happens between now and the end of May will change my mind. It’s fine to disagree. I’ve seen a few comments about where I’m from recently and the fact I’m not a fan. Like that prevents me from having an opinion on a club it is my job to cover and has been for more than two decades. This is my professional opinion as a football journalist. Lots of you will disagree with it. But I also know many of you agree with me because I speak to people all the time and don’t spend my entire day on here. Opinions vary, that’s absolutely fine #nufc

Dowman a shout for YPOTY? Are you sure? Has even played the equivalent of 90mins in the PL? The lad is clearly quality and if he continues like this could be a generational talent but YPOTY this season. Id love to know the reasoning for this shout?

Arsenal have nothing to fear but fear itself. Fear cripples a good group of players. And they are good players, we’ll see that at the World Cup, three have a very realistic chance of winning it (Raya and Zubimendi with Spain, Saliba with France). Rice and Gabriel are contenders for FOTY/POTY, Dowman for YPOTY. It’s just fear holding Arsenal back. That was clear with their nervy response to a more confident Bournemouth. Fear inhibits attacking instincts; wide players check back rather than attack, midfielders pause before releasing, defenders pass the ball between them rather than progress it quicker. Fear stalks the crowd. Fans can help dispel the fear by staying to the end and not booing a team top of the table. But really it's down to Mikel Arteta to confront this fear threatening to ruin Arsenal's season. How? Partly through body language: Arteta looks almost anxious in the technical area, transmitting doubt rather than defiance. Partly through selection: give the fearless Max Dowman a start wide, believe in Eberechi Eze more (nb injuries). Partly tactical: adopt a more front-foot philosophy, tell wingers to take on their full-backs, tell Raya to distribute the ball quicker; attack, make the opposition fearful, get Viktor Gyokeres in behind. Partly messaging: make it simpler, stating belief in the players, and less scripted “bring your dinner”; learn from Pep's mastery of press conferences. No need to panic. Still top. Still have good players. Just have to fight the fear. And believe. #AFC

I'll have to remember "where we have come from". No way to dress that up. Piss poor all around. What excuse will we have? Full week to work with players, Palace had a far more important game on Thursday, rested some of their players and still got the win they deserved. #NUFC

Yes because it puts into context the spending to trophies argument. They turned a relegation squad into a CL team. They spent heavily last summer because they sold their best and most important player on deadline day. If you want to forget all that fine but your spending argument falls apart

🚨 OFFICIAL: Barcelona fill complaint to UEFA for referee and VAR decisions. ⚠️ FC Barcelona reports that, on the day of the day of the day, the Club's legal services have presented a formal complaint against UEFA in relation to the matches that occurred in the match of the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League against Athletic Madrid. The club considers that it will produce an arbitration action contrary to current regulations, with a direct impact on the development of the encounter and its result. The claim focuses on a specific action. At the 54th minute of the match, once the game had resumed correctly, a rival player will attack the pilot with his hand inside the area without that being pointed out to the criminal correspondent. FC Barcelona understand that this decision, together with the non-intervention of the VAR, constituted an important error. As a consequence, the club has requested the opening of an investigation, access to arbitration communications and, if applicable, the official recognition of errors and the adoption of the relevant measures. In this matter, FC Barcelona considers that it is not the first time that, in recent editions of the UEFA Champions League, incomprehensible refereeing decisions have harmed the equipment, generating a clear comparative group and preventing them from competing in equal conditions with other clubs.

This clearly isn’t all on Howe, there’s more to it, but there’s just nowhere to hide when you’re repeatedly making the same mistakes. Pathetic second half showings every week, you continue to play Germany’s #9 in the midfield despite him looking awful. Ironically today was his best performance in that position, and you take him off for Willock who was dreadful. You continually bring Murphy on to whip balls into the box when you take the 6ft 6 striker off, it’s all just broken. Managers shouldn’t be defined by results but when results start to become a pattern.
