Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake.
The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure.
The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America.
I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

There are real concerns about Trump‘s latest unilateral action, ignoring Congress and surely to suit his personal ends. And the hypocrisy of the peace president is jarring. But when deterrence is allowed to crumble, action becomes inevitable to defend national & global security.

Khamenei was the epitome of evil. For decades, he oversaw the torture, imprisonment, and murder of countless Iranians who dared to demand freedom. American blood is on his hands as well. Like many, I grew up with WaPo Sports, reading every morning before school. To not only have met the people who filled those pages, but to also call them colleagues & friends was a dream come true.

Alex Pretti was a clearly disturbed individual not only putting himself in the middle of immigration operations, but actively looking for a fight with federal agents.
Contrast that with Laken Riley, Rachel Morin, and Jocelyn Nungaray-- real victims who did nothing wrong when they were brutally murdered by illegal aliens.

Does this mean it was a good idea for Pretti to go to a protest of ICE with a firearm? No. But you’re not supposed to get shot ten times and killed for having a bad idea. The Second Amendment protects your right to carry a firearm just about anywhere, despite the legally and constitutionally incorrect assertions of several law enforcement officials this weekend.
