Project B is offering WNBA stars multi-million dollar salaries to play in the startup league, multiple sources told me. So, what threat does the global league pose? And to whom? frontofficesports.com/wnba-project-b…

Crypto is inspiring shared alignment across sports. i'm surprised to see WNBA lose its union president and their moral center, to a startup paying equity 🤯 Seattle Storm’s Swedish patch runs ~$3 M/year. extrapolated across 12 teams = ~$36 M of sponsor equity tied to a league whose MVPs are walking out the door. That's prob close all player salaries...sadly.

So happy for my brother @moshaikh. One of the smartest investors/operators I’ve been around in my career. Excited for MFV!
Mo Shaikh@Moshaikh

I can count on one hand the number of crypto VCs with operator experience. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of great investors in the space right now. But too many funds write checks and too few help founders actually build. And it's holding the industry back. @neilhar @alextang @jerome_ and I started MFV, a $50M operator-led engine built by founders, for founders to change that.

Kirby Smart said, "The disease that creeps into your program is called entitlement...We have a saying around our place, we eat off the floor. If you're willing to eat off the floor, you can be special." Entitlement is the enemy of hard work. It's the delusion that you deserve something that you haven't earned. • Entitlement is the enemy of progress. • Entitlement means you're lacking in gratitude. • Entitlement means you're not living with a growth-mindset. 6 Ways to Get Entitlement Out of Your Culture 1. Lead by Example - Leaders should demonstrate humility and a non-entitled attitude. Leading by example is not about your position or title, it's about your behavior. When leaders show they don't consider themselves above others, it sets a tone for the team, discouraging entitlement. 2. Create a Culture of Growth - When you have a mindset of excellence and improvement then the growth will never stop. Encourage a place where learning from failures, continuous self-improvement, and personal development are valued. This promotes humility and helps people understand that effort and learning are key to success, not just inherent talent or privilege. 3. Foster a Culture of Gratitude - Create an environment where gratitude and humility are valued. Encourage people to appreciate what they have and the efforts of others. You can be entitled when you are grateful for every day and every opportunity. This mindset will reduce the feelings of entitlement and promote a more cooperative and appreciative culture. 4. Set Clear Expectations and Accountability - When people know what to expect, they know how to act. Clearly define roles, responsibilities, and goals. When team members know what is expected, they understand that success is a result of meeting these objectives, not just a default outcome. 5. Encourage Service and Empathy - Promote activities that involve serving others or contributing to the team. When people know each other and care for each other, they connect and lack feelings of entitlements. It helps drive collaboration, empathy, and service to the team. People understand the value of contributing, as opposed to expecting things without effort. 6. Regularly Assess and Adjust - Continuously evaluate the team's culture and make adjustments as needed. Regular assessment helps identify entitlement issues early and allows for timely interventions to maintain a healthy, collaborative team environment. "We don't run from hard work; our kids don't run from work. As long as you don't have entitlement in your program, you got a shot." - Kirby Smart - - - Follow @coachajkings for more posts like this!

How to Improve Your Sleep: (Adapted from ‘Outlive’ by @PeterAttiaMD) 1. Don’t drink any alcohol, period. If you must, limit yourself to one drink before 6pm. 2. Don’t eat anything less than 3 hours before bedtime. 3. Refrain from stimulating electronics two hours before bed. 4. For at least one hour before bed, avoid doing anything anxiety-producing or stimulating. (e.g. don’t check work emails, and stay off social media) 5. If you have access, get in a sauna or hot tub before bed. When your body temperature lowers after you get in a cool bed, it sends a signal to your brain that it’s time to sleep. 6. Keep your bedroom temperature in the mid-sixties. (Bonus points for a cool mattress — I sleep on an @eightsleep bed and can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s a literal game changer!) 7. Darken your bedroom COMPLETELY. If that’s not feasible, use an eye shade. (Dr Attia recommends one called Alaska Bear) 8. Give yourself enough time to sleep! In other words, go to bed at least 8-9 hours before you need to wake up. If you don’t, you’re not even giving yourself a chance. 9. Fix your wake-up time (and don’t deviate from it). This can be hard, especially on the weekends, but if you can keep a consistent wake schedule your sleep quality (and health & performance) will improve dramatically. 10. Don’t *obsess* over your sleep (especially if you’re having problems). Good or bad sleep doesn’t happen in a night, it compounds over time. We all have a bad night’s sleep, the key is to not let that turn into a streak of bad nights. Similarly, 1-2 good nights of sleep won’t make up for a chronic stretch of less than 7 hours of quality sleep. ***** “Sleep is a performance-enhancing drug, not only physically but cognitively. Long-term this thing called sleep also has the power to improve our healthspan in remarkable ways. Just like exercise, sleep is it’s own kind of wonder drug, with both global and localized benefits to the brain, to the heart, and especially to our metabolism.”
