Trump is obviously joyful at the patient's progress. Do you people just not actually talk to a lot of people? Different kinds of people? With different ways of expressing emotions? Interesting, this comment brought to my mind family systems therapy. The idea that when a member of the family goes through a change, like a mother gets a job, or a father leaves, or a sibling gets over their shyness and starts putting down boundaries - it's seismic. Since they are sincerely under the impression that half the country are racists, they believe it is first and foremost their duty to "humanize" all non cis-het whites. They are being good anti-racists, just as they've been taught. They believe their pens can cure racism, and they hear trumpets of glory with each word they write. They see us as sitting on donkeys, firing our shotguns into the air, and yelling "hee haw!!!" They see themselves as our teachers, reformers, and scolders - anything but journalists.
