In 2017, a homeless man wandering the streets of the United States stumbled upon a $10,000 check. Instead of keeping it, he decided to return it to its rightful owner. The check had a phone number written on it, so he used a phone booth to call. To his surprise, the check belonged to a prominent businesswoman. He informed her about the check and arranged for her to retrieve it. When they met, she was deeply moved by his honesty upon learning he was homeless. To show her gratitude, she bought him an apartment and enrolled him in a real estate school. After he graduated, she offered him a position as the administrator of one of her foundations.

Last Friday, I took in an emergency foster—a 4-year-old pregnant black Pitbull named Zephyra. She had been abandoned after a breeder decided to stop their business and no longer wanted her. By Sunday, Zephyra gave birth to six beautiful puppies. Four boys and two girls. Six tiny new lives. Despite everything she has been through, she is the sweetest and most gentle mama. From the moment the puppies arrived, she has been calm, patient, and completely devoted to them. The puppies are tiny and perfect—soft little sighs, sleepy stretches, pink paws, and full milk bellies. Watching them already fills my heart with so much love. Zephyra hardly leaves their side. She curls her body around all six puppies like she knows they depend on her completely. And right now, they are all healthy and thriving. We may never know what her life was like before she came here. But one thing is certain—now she is safe, cared for, and surrounded by love. For now, I’m just enjoying every tiny moment: every little yawn, every stretch, and every small paw. And honestly, I think I’m already a little in love with all of them. 🐾✨
