The richest man on Earth dismantled the organization that feeds the poorest children on earth.
He also cancelled all of the global Ebola prevention programs. The UN has now declared Ebola outbreak a global health emergency.
Elon Musk’s dismantling of USAID has already killed more children than in Gaza and Ukraine combined.
He cut lifetimes for millions and the result is a silent massacres.
Nor should we forget his complicity in the genocide in Gaza, as well as in the war in Ukraine and the Epstein case.
I don’t understand how billionaires think. If I only had one billion dollars, I would rush to fix our world problem. Homeless, hungry, poverty, wars, climate change... etc. They can be heroes and not just billionaires. What a waste.

Last Friday, CSAN was proud to convene our Dignity of Workers in the 21st Century symposium at Westminster Cathedral Hall.
The event was a resounding success: a day of rich thinking, serious reflection, and urgent conversation about the future of work, the dignity of labour, and the renewal of Catholic Social Teaching for our own moment.
We are especially grateful to our speakers, contributors, members, partners, bishops, and guests who helped make the day such a thoughtful and energising gathering. The quality of reflection in the room confirmed what many already know: this is not a marginal issue, but one of the defining social questions of our time.
As we anticipate @Pontifex Leo XIV’s forthcoming encyclical, this conversation feels more timely than ever. From insecure work and low pay to digital surveillance, artificial intelligence, care work, social security, migration, and the erosion of decent working conditions, there is much still to be named, discerned, and acted upon.
At CSAN, we are proud to be convenors, animators, and custodians of this conversation as it continues.
Our task now is to gather the energy and momentum from Friday and turn it into concrete, appropriate action: deepening reflection, developing partnerships, and shaping policy asks rooted in the dignity of every worker and the common good.
You can read coverage of the symposium in The Tablet here: thetablet.co.uk/news/bishops-b…
Our report, Dignity of Workers in the 21st Century, is also now available to read and download for free: csan.org.uk/csan-launches-…

I actually sort of disagree. There are people I’ve seen who are politically centrist who still engage in anti Jewish conspiracy theories but are less inclined to say it out loud. I’m seeing now that it’s not a far left far right horseshoe at all. It’s just… everywhere. Is it something in the water? Or is it centuries of anti Jewish bias in Europe somehow still filtering through society?
Sorry if that’s even worse. But I think it’s even worse.

APPLEBAUM: Russia's war in Ukraine is sometimes described, including recently by American Vice President, as if it were nothing more than territorial dispute, kind of scuffle over lines on map.
But when Russia denies that Ukraine is a real nation, builds concentration camps on Ukrainian territory, bans Ukrainian language and systematically arrests mayors, teachers, journalists, and priests, then Russia is also attacking Europe that was built after 1945, Europe whose borders are not supposed to be changed by force.
Russia invaded Ukraine not only to destroy Ukraine but also to prove that treaties are meaningless, alliances are weak, and brute force still decides fate of nations.
By waging imperial war of conquest, Russia seeks to undermine Europe's post-imperial order.

𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗥'𝗦 𝗔𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦
Labour’s affiliated unions are deeply concerned by the Party’s catastrophic election results. They show a stark disconnect between this Labour Government and the working people and communities that it was elected to represent.
Voters right across the country have sent a clear message: that this Government are not delivering on the promised change they so desperately want to see.
This cannot continue. Voters want to see a radical new direction from Labour, that stems the tide of division and unites workers and communities in every part of the country. TULO unions are united in calling for a fundamental change of direction on economic policy and political strategy, so that Labour do what it was elected to do: govern in the interests of workers.
Labour must also deliver the rebalancing of power in the workplace promised in the New Deal for Working People, in full, without any carve-outs or loopholes.
The stakes are too high to continue on this path. Labour’s unions have a responsibility to the Party that we created, and as a result TULO have demanded a meeting with the Prime Minister and Party Leadership to discuss the urgent change in direction that we all know is needed.

I know the difference an affordable, healthy breakfast can make for children.
Together with local leaders like @patrick_hurley we’re creating more breakfast clubs like this one in Southport.
Vote Labour 7th May, so we can give more kids the chance to learn free from hunger.
